then on the keyboard click options and tick "turn on numeric key pad"then ok and then a number pad should pop up on that keyboard on the right. use that for alts..

ok i now know how to do it. this is if ur on a newer laptop like me. go to start, type in run, click on it, type in osk then a lil keyboard should pop up on ur screen

on mine all you have to do is use the FN number buttons instead of keypad you hold down FN and Alt and there should be numbers around the letter k that replace the numpad

On the subject of people with laptops, has anyone just tried googling 'alt codes without numpad'? Didn't look too closely but there seem to be solutions.
