I built this on cyberpowerpc.com, I shopped around a few other sites, and by far this has been one of the best in terms of options and layout.

This is the gaming pc i got about a month ago. It's worked very well for me. (300+fps in counterstrike globaloffensive, ultra settings on skyrim) The GTX 760 is a much more powerful card than the GT 730 as well.

It's also a $969 computer on sale for $819.

Your build is pretty good but like giants said your graphics card could be better.

Well your card is $240 vs. his $80 card. Link, I think that card would only go 80 fps for CS:GO, invest in a better one is my opinion Grin

Thanks guys Grin and thanks for pointing that out, my next question is the wattage. This may sound silly, but would I need a power surge protector to match the same watts the computers output will be? I know my old computer didn't use more than 300 watts, and the one giants showed uses around 400 or so, 350+ for this build I made. Will it short out of power if I play too long or anything of that nature? I.e: Keeping the computer on, long hours of usage, etc

You generally want a power supply that is about 10-20% higher than your total wattage usage of the components of your computer. So for instance, if your gpu uses 120 watts and your CPU uses 95 watts plus your ram using 100 watts (these numbers are examples not necessarily accurate). So that's 315 watts with just those parts. Your fans use power and other minor power usages. So in that case 400-450 watts should be sufficient.

The amount of time the computer is on should not make too much difference in its power generation. However, the more it has to work the hotter it can get so it's usually better to get more power than less. Also having good fans that don't have contradicting air flow is important. Contradicting air flow means one blowing the case on the front and the fan on the back also blowing in. The air doesn't get pulled through. You want some fans blowing in and some blowing out.

Also power supply's have different ratings. It is a description of their efficiency level. Bronze is supposed to be a minimum of 80% of the rated output silver is like 85 and gold is 90. This means that a power supply rated for 400 watts and is bronze level will put out at least 320 watts. You must take that into consideration when buying these as well. If you ever want to upgrade any parts on your computer, you may need a more powerful power supply especially if upgrading gpus which are very power hungry.

If you get a power strip just get one that warranties your items plugged into it for at least the cost of the computer and you should be fine. If lighting strikes it, the strip should protect it and if it fries it, the power strip company will pay for a new computer.

i dont think watts should affect how long you play,it should ask you how much wattage you need for the computer,if you are under the recommended,a notification should pop up telling you your choice of watts is too low. Just grab an extra 50/100 to be save, and get the outlet deck that protects agains electricity ovechargers/electricity outage, could protect your whole rig Smile

Get a mechanical keyboard if you have the money. They last 10 times longer than regular keyboards, are more responsive and are a luxury if you need to type alot and if you use your computer alot. Once you use one you'll never want to go back to a regular keyboard again. I got mine for $90 off Amazon was a great investment.

Hold it!

Don't get a fucking prebuilt!
Prebuilts are overpriced. Prebuilts have crap hardware. If you need proof of that, look at your build. A $1000 computer with a GTX 730? That's bullshit. Prebuilts also come with bloatware installed, which takes up space on your HDD and slows down your computer right form the start.

Building a PC is so much better.
Worried about how it difficult it is to build? It's so easy to build a PC. It's like legos.
Let me dumb down how to build it:
Connect parts to motherboard. Put motherboard in computer case. Turn on.
It's super easy!
When you build a computer you get the best bang for your buck and you know exactly what is going into the computer.

For $1k you can get an amazing build.

Here is a build for $1k (not including mouse, keyboard, or monitor, or Windows):
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($234.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($144.95 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GCool DDR3-1600 Memory ($83.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($58.00 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Dual-X Video Card ($269.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Titanium Grey) ATX Mid Tower Case ($122.07 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Asus DVD-E818AAT/BLK/B/GEN DVD/CD Drive ($24.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $1068.96
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The GPU can be changed to a GTX 770 or GTX 760 (the prices vary for both). The case can be changed to your aesthetic preference as well (the case chosen is an expensive case tbh).
The motherboard can also be upgraded to a motherboard with a Z97 chipset.

Here is an alternate build if you want (a modified build of the above one):

Windows is not included because there are methods (both legal and illegal, the latter of which I do not condone for legal reasons), to obtain for either a significantly reduced price, as opposed to the unbelievably high $200 price tag on some versions, or for free.

Trust me, building it is awesome. Smile

Windows is not included because there are methods (both legal and illegal, the latter of which I do not condone for legal reasons), to obtain for either a significantly reduced price, as opposed to the unbelievably high $200 price tag on some versions, or for free.

Trust me, building it is awesome. Smile

I can certainly understand, and agree with your points. However, after shopping around, and based on my work situation, I was OK with paying a slight premium for a built gaming computer. I didn't buy this off a big name retailer like Best-Buy or Amazon, it was from a smaller manufacturer(CyberPowerPC) and revolves around a build-to-order business model. And if anything, I could just wipe out all the pre-installed software, delete it, and format it myself with Windows 7 which I will buy a hard copy. Especially since this will be my 1st time buying a decent gaming rig, I don't mind buying it compared to building it myself. I just don't have the time to build it unfortunately due to my work schedule.

EDIT: I changed the Graphics/Video Card to a GTX 750 2GB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card (Single Card)

While I do think that building a PC is fun, rewarding and surprisingly easy it is not for everyone. Not everyone wants to take the short amount of time to do it and would rather pay someone else to do it. Just like some of us pay people to change our cars oil, it's not that we don't want to or don't know how, it's just easier to pay someone else to do it.

He could buy the parts and take them to Fry's and they'll build it for $50.

Also, Link, for $1k you can still get a better GPU than a GTX 750ti. Shock

I don't know why, but when I went on PC builder and entered some of the components from my current selection it actually came put to be more. Also, on cyberpower pc it comes with a free gaming headset, keyboard and mouse. That convinced me as well.
