I know a game that can be expansive toward [ZA] called Dayz and this game is mostly about the zombie apocalypse that has the majority of the human population scattered. This game is interesting due to the fact that you have to survive from both humans and zombies as the humans can try to rob and kill you for supplies. This game is not a game you can respawn in though once you die you have to create a new account and start again. This is why I need a partner or any amount of [ZA] players willing to join in this game with me because people are ruthless and you can be easily backstabbed.......literally. |

I see. Then I may not like it, because I dislike COD.

Game sounds like fun but creating new account every time you die doesn't sound like fun lol.

We should just pretend that 2012 really happened when talking to our kids and grandkids, and act that Day Z and the Walking Dead are just based off of events of 2012. |

I've merged the two threads, and moved it to the correct forum section.

I hate to be an asshole, but please look for threads relating to this next time. I posted a thread about DayZ a few weeks ago. You really didn't need to make another thread.
Anyways, I play DayZ, though I am not in ZA.

You don't "create a new account." You lose all the stuff you collected when you died. But it adds more fun to the game when you must scavenge the land all over again. There are some servers that let you spawn with weapons, but it's not nearly as good. Trust me, it makes things more interesting.

Vulture, the game is NOTHING like CoD. It's ArmA.
CoD and ArmA have VERY different controls.
If you run around in ArmA, you will die quickly. In CoD, you can get a bunch of kills.
ArmA is a war simulator. CoD is an arcade shooter.
Just because you carry guns and shoot people in both doesn't mean they are similar. They are EXTREMELY different.

Since I've never played that game and he said the gameplay was similar to COD's. That's why I thought it would be like another COD type of game.

If you are used to the mainstream FPS controls then prepare to have suicidal thoughts if you plan on playing DayZ. It takes a bit of time to get used to (it actually took me about two days to get used to ArmA controls). For ArmA 2/DayZ, the controls are slightly different than ArmA 3. Double tap W to run in DayZ, as opposed to shift. CLICK mouse right to ADS. Hold mouse right to zoom in/hold breath. X, C, Z to toggle between prone, crouch, and stand. Q and E to lean left and right. The list goes on. You'd like it.
