I think every Thanksgiving we've had a Food Thread. And I know we have plenty of foodies that do not partake in this American Holiday, but one of the oldest traditions across most cultures is celebrated with food.
So what are some of your favorite holiday foods, recipes, traditions?
This year I'm making a no-bake chocolate pumpkin pie. I usually get put in charge of things like Napkins, Ice, or Bread, but since I'm a grown up now, I am bringing real food, LOL!
I'm also making a Peruvian dish called causa which is like a spicy mashed potato casserole with two layers of mashed potato with a layer of chicken salad in the middle, served cold with a spicy optional sauce.
Yummm...

Roast dinner.
Beef, roast potatoes, stuffing, carrots, suede, bacon, mint sauce, gravy, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, the whole lot.
(The only important part is the brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts are the heart of christmas dinner)
Then for pudding, everyone in my family except me eats fruity Christmas Pudding. I usually just eat another plate or two of dinner at that point. |

Pecan pie is fucking delicious.
I also like stuffing.
I made chicken spaghetti for the faculty luncheon the other day and people were like fighting over it. It's also fucking delicious.
My mom used to make this cranberry fluff salad thing with marshmallows in it. It's was fucking delicious too.
I also like mashed potatoes with gravy.

Everything sounds so good. My family makes my grandma's famous gravy out of the turkey gizzards and neck (sounds eww but so good), and stuffing and pies and green bean casserole and all the other traditional american thanksgiving food, but we also have mexican food like carne guisada and rice and beans. Texi-Mexi Thanksgiving.

Every year I used to make peanut butter pie and apple pie. It's a shame I don't get to see my family down south this year :/
