Okay, so I recently installed Windows 8.1, it seemed to be fine. However, recently I've began to get blue screens of death as well as my sound just suddenly stops working. Does anyone have any idea what the hell is going on? Has anyone else experienced this with Windows 8.1? |

Hasn't happened to me yet, I also have windows 8.1. I've had several issues with League since downloading it, where I never had issues with it before. I'll let you know if anything like this happens.

I was gonna get it, but my laziness has saved me. My friend has lots of problems with his games now.

Do Windows Updates to the latest along with updating your BIOS and graphics drivers.

Not getting blue screens of death, but I've had my sound stop working.
Probably not related to Windows 8.1 though. I assume in my case, my motherboard's on-board codec just died, which is apparently common in my mb model. I got a new sound card and now I have no issues at all though.
I suggest you just try updating all of your drivers and your BIOS, and hope that it then works.
If it doesn't, get HWMonitor and post the voltages and temperatures before and after gaming. (Search HWMonitor on Google, it's usually the top result)
E: Although, if you still can't fix it, it might be worth it to do a few searches for common issue with the Windows 8.1 update. I recall having some issues, such as noticeable overall lag, when I initially updated. I've since clean-installed, since I needed to anyway to move to my new hdd, but I think I've seen quite common reports of update issues.

Realtek ALC887.
Realtek's notorious for dead audio chips though, so I doubt it's really related to Windows 8.1. |

One reason I don't like mobo sound chips, due to the fact they might have it rigged in some form or fashion. How many times I have seen them rig the chip set to some other device.
@All
Also could check if fast boot/fast memory detect is enabled in Bios. Oddly this has caused devices not to be detected or detected correctly (Which starting to sound like a Win8.1 boot-up issue possibly with the bios)
Also seems X64 OS is having the issues mostly (not a big surprise really), so could be in the dark for a bit till the specific companies put out a fix. Best bet is to rollback the driver to Microsoft provided or leave it uninstalled for the time being (kinda sucks I know).
