This is not merely a defense of what I present to you now, but merely an explanation for the accusations and complaints that our dearest comrades have presented to the higher ups. I am not merely seeking to escape from the reprisals of the society and clan, but merely to confront them for the benefit of both parties. Acknowledging the parties involved: myself, the plaintiffs, and the judges (that is the admins who must hear the case); it is imperative that if I care enough about my standing in the clan (that is Zombie Assassins, recent merged with Food Clan) that I present my reasonable explanations for the behavior and ‘offenses’ of what have been brought before me. An explanation for my acts and to tell you how they were performed.
I have only been a member for a short time, having recently been ordained as a full member. It has been during that time I have involved myself with various games and events with my fellow members. During that time, I have been notified by Administrators Star and Rawr that they have received complaints against my person over the crime of ‘Rage Quitting’. But what is ‘Rage Quitting’? Defining these terms through the use of an online dictionary: Rage means to show great anger and act out of frustration. While the second term, quitting is the ceasing of all activity. Thus, the act of ‘Rage Quitting’ is the action of which a player leaves as the result of getting frustrated in a match, and decides to quit.
According to the rules, written in stone for all to see (and thus should be known by all like the Laws in the Roman Market, the 10 Commandments given to the Israelites by Moses, and so on); ‘Rage Quitting’ is defined under ZA Law as: the Last Man Standing (That is last human/red) quitting as Alpha Zombie (i.e. Before the next game starts such as the map vote, or immediately after the human has been killed. That, is the crime of which I have been accused of. While I’m aware that this act disrupts game play, is unfair to the players that have to put up with this heinous act; it is imperative that my side of the story be told to all.
The First Point of my Defense
Those who are savvy with up-and-coming technology are all aware of the deplorable Operating System that is Windows 8. Those who use the OS on their computing devices report many compatibility and hardware issues. This has happened to me (as well as others) on occasion. While I have grown accustomed to the daily frustrations of running a program, and as the result of compatibility issues, having said program crash and having to reboot my pc. Recent searches over the internet have shown to me that many people have similar issues regarding their computers and software. It is and probably always be a problem, when said issues affects my ability to work with Halo. Regardless of whether or not it is a campaign game or a multiplayer game, upon occasion the whole system crashes. That is to say that one moment I will be in the middle of a game, and Halo exits out of the screen and a new popup appears saying these vile words “Gathering Exception Data”. Soon after another popup shows: “Halo has stopped responding.”
The second technical issue is that of a whole system crash. That is to say Halo suddenly crashes. When I input CTRL + ALT + DELETE to open the task manager, all I receive in return is a black screen of death. Unable to get back to my desktop screen, I am forced… yes forced, to shut down my pc and reboot the system again. Rawr has pointed out to me that I should have been kicked off Xfire during this ordeal. That might be true for some players, but not at all for me. While there is a black screen, I have received notifications from Skype and Xfire. Thus these programs still work, but I am unable to do anything in the meantime.
During this time, players assume I must’ve rage quit. That I am merely a spineless coward who does not enjoy dying 50+ plus times before finally getting a kill or the game ends. While the thought of dying that many times appeals to the masochist in all of us that is not the case. To some who are offended by this, please note that I am helpless to stop these issues when they happen
When I bought my pc, I had been told it had been returned for some issues: such as sticky keys (I have noticed my avatar continue shooting because the laptop’s left scroll button was stuck and had to be pressed in again). I assume there had been other issues as well. Any student of history can tell you that man is not perfect, and that is why we have wars, crime, and other nasty acts towards fellow man. As a result of human imperfection, it is probable that not all of the issues on my laptop have been completely resolved. I had bought this laptop used, as well as merely only for college work. I know that as a Geographical Information Systems major, I am supposed to be inclined towards the fields of technology and geography, but I can only work so much on this laptop. It was merely a cheap buy to do most of my school work on, and I plan on getting a better computer in the future so that these technical issues do not return.
In conclusion for my first point of defense, my laptop is a useless piece of junk. My technical skills can only go so far before I decide to scrap it for a better pc. I apologize on my own behalf on the technological issues that have been presented during tense matches where every player is needed, and to remove the zombies from a game of ‘Zombies’ is no fun game to play at all.
The Second Point of my Defense
As some you may or may not know, I have only been a college student for a short time. I did not realize that the world of academia I had entered would be so much a drastic change. While the social science of geography combined with the field of IT technology is a source of academic I can handle; it is the endless tortures of General Education requirements to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree that has me weighed down. Now some of you might be wondering what does this have to do with anything. Well I explain. As a college student, I swamped with these general education requirements that I have bitten off a few more classes then I could chew. As a result I have quite a number of deadlines, lots of writing papers, and only a finite amount of time in which to complete them.
I will admit that over the course of playing for a few hours when I was supposed to be working on a paper, I may have decided that I have played enough Halo on my pc for one day and begin working on said paper. This is truly my fault. Yes, I know I should have notified someone of this issue. But after several episodes of an Exception Data, I came to accept it as my computer’s way of telling me to stop playing and begin work on the paper.
This however, does not excuse my behavior on dealing with this issue. It is unfair to my compatriots that they must go through this as I selfishly decide that after playing a few games it is necessary to begin work.
I do not wish to develop issues or make a habit of these acts against my fellow players. I merely wish to be able to play Halo Zombies with them and at the same time juggle between college classes, several clubs that I am involved in and talking with a girl I am infatuated with. As a result, I will strive to accommodate these issues so that they do not occur again.
How I will improve so this does not happen again, nor becomes an issue in the future.
Though I have presented my case and reasons behind my actions towards all to see, they do not excuse them at all. Instead it merely reveals my shortcomings as player and a fellow member. Thus, I will now present a list of points I can do, from which I will perform to improve:
1. Notify an admin when a technical issue occurs-
While these issues are an occasional occurrence, it is not fair to the players that have to deal with the alpha zombie suddenly disappearing without a trace. Thus I should contact the admin if there was one in game that my pc crashed and I will be returning shortly.
2. Do the papers (college assignments) before joining Halo-
While this is not an excuse, I have gotten into a habit of not returning after my computer crashes and deciding I’ve played enough Halo and begin working on an assignment. This is not fair to the humans, and thus I will make sure to have these done before I join or school work does not become an issue (which I should have coming first I know)
3. Stay in the game
On occasion various things come up (like a dorm hall meeting, or my laundry in the dryer has finished up), simply put it, I’ll just stay in the game until an infection has been completed.
I am under no illusions, nor am I an idiot. I know that my deeds constitute simply as acts against my fellow players as the result of negligence on my own part, and people chafe under such activity and behaviors in players. While I understand that many are simply annoyed and unwilling to put up with this, nor does the explanation completely clear me of the accusations. However, I do not quit when the going gets rough if I can help it. Even if I am the last zombie in a map of 15 to 1, I will not quit until I have taken the life of one human, and adding a life to the zombies. In the end, this merely means I am the one who is truly at fault. Why should the players have to deal with my end of the stick when we should all be coming together to kill one another? That is the point of Halo, isn’t it? Why should the behavior of one affect the fun, bliss, and joy of the rest? My conclusion as a result of these issues to simply put it, means that such problems will not occur again. I come here to participate in gaming with my fellow players, not indulge in the heinous acts of rage quitting which tears the numbers of the server to zero. Hence forth, I will be sure to make sure that all issues from my part are resolved so we can get back in the game.

Writing up such a long explanation like this really seems like you're trolling since you know most ppl won't read it all but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
To sum it all up for everyone:
Apparently Ceasar has received reports that he has been rqing. He says its because of two issues. First halo isn't very compatible with Windows 8 and second is that he has school work to do.
My input:
Rqing is only against the rules when you quit as lms or quit as one of the 4 alphas before 4 minutes have passed in game. Quitting after being infected any other time and quitting if you joined late is never a rq. So with that said that is a very small time window in which players can rq. The times I have played with you I never saw you drop off the game while you were a human. Windows 8 also doesn't pick out all the times you are lms or starting the game as alpha to shut halo off. Yes it will happen on occasion if its random but it shouldn't be happening enough that others are noticing it. So in reality with only ~4 ingame minutes you can quit as a rq and whatever time you were lms, more times than not your computer will shut off halo during all other parts of the game. Also if your minimizing halo while your zombie that can make it crash.
The point about homework is, as you said, not a valid argument. I have responsibility's also being a full time college student but I can play out the 4 minutes as alpha before I get off. If you know that you won't be able to play next game then you should quit, preferably as human, the game before that as not to upset the gameplay for everyone else. Everyone here is able to work their responsibilities around their gaming time and I know you'll be able to too.
