That processor!goddam!:3 how much did all of that cost you?I'm no tech nerd, butit seems you did everything fine and looks rreally relatively new so good job!i would of stuck to i5 just to buy a better graphics cardbut the 660 isn't bad at all. make sure you looked out for deals that could of given you a free graphics card upgrade or a really good one for really cheap. like i know the 7979 AMD was 700$ off, leaving it at 200$ ish!

7979 AMD? You mean AMD HD 7990 dropping down to $600~ from $1000 and HD 7970 dropping down to $300~ at lowest from $450~?

But anyways good build there, Stuntman! Grin

lol thx. It cost me around 1400 dollars. It was free shipping and no tax so you can't resist that. shipping by itself would have cost 130 dollars, so that's saving right there and then no tax. It is a whole lot better than the pc I have right now so I think I did good there . Grin

You blew $1400 then.
GPU is shit for the price. Assuming you are mainly gaming, an i7 is also useless, since you won't be using the hyper threading. An i5 would've been much more sufficient.
I could make a better PC build for that money. You could get a build that can easily max Battlefield 4 for that price (660 is recommended, but odds are it won't get 60+ fps on ultra quality. I'd be surprised if it did.)

EDIT: Found this build with a 7990 and an SSD for the same price. This build can easily max out any game.

There is always next time but I am not going to buy battleffield 4 or Doom iii. I am just gonna play a few games and use it mostly for my virtual machines that I can run backtrack and Kali linux so I can hack Grin

Careful! Don't hack or star will ban you. Trust me! (Joking). Also, if you are just planning to use virtual machines, a GPU isn't necessary. You also should've gotten more RAM.

Only let down in my opinion is having no ssd. Even if it was a low gb one just for the OS, would of made it so much better. Also that card is pretty decent but would of been better to get one from the new 700 range from nVidia.

It's not really hard to upgrade a graphics card in the future. Swapping graphics card in the computer is the easiest step anyone can do. But as for CPU, it's a lot harder to exchange to a newer one inside the machine. So i7 4770K paid him off for a maximum gaming performance CPU. As for the graphics card, he doesn't have to play games like BF3, BF4 at ultra settings, he can just mix each of them up at med/high settings and run it smoothly above 60 FPS for sure. So all of you need to stop QQ'ing about the GTX 660. At least it's better than the crappy AMD HD 7850. Also AMD graphics drivers are shit awful. Thank god I will finally be getting rid of this AMD crap for good on my next build and also intel + Nvidia FTW! I just hope AMD goes out of business. Grin

Buying the parts separately on newegg and then building the PC on your own would save yourself some cash. But Stuntman doesn't want to do that as he urgently needed a gaming PC where they would build it for him on the customized parts which he had selected. Also remember, it was free shipping for him too.

All I was saying was that he could of gotten say a gtx 760 for a similar price and would out perform the 660. It's a pretty decent PC and probably exceeds his needs. We're a loud to say what we think so yea... By the way, why did you get a AMD card in the first place if you think they're so shit?

AMD was good at the beginning with its first driver versions. But they overdid themselves with their latest driver versions causing a lot of problems lately, not only to me, but rest of the other people that own AMD cards..

You shouldn't need to for a long time if you're only going to do light gaming etc on it. Would just be a waste of money. It will be good for a couple of years at least.

That's true. I would wait for a Nvidia GTX 870 (Which would be around $300~) if planning on buying it somewhere around 2015. (That's when the 900 series will come out and the 800 series price would then drop.)

When the new AMD cards come out the Nvidia cards will all drop in price which will be nice. Computer parts in NZ are so expensive... 770 is like $700 and 780 $1,000+... I should be able to get one of them sometime soon... Not sure when the new AMD cards are coming though which is annoying. Also do you know how to maintain a PC properly? You really need to if you want your new one to last and be the best it can be. Not sure what case you have but most of the new ones have fan filters etc... Make sure to clean them out regularly and make sure their is no dust build up anywhere. Stuff like that is quite important. Compressed air is good for cleaning all the dust out of the inside of the case. You can buy it in a can for pretty cheap, most computer stores have it.
