Poems have been read and judged! Thank you for all the entries, a few of them were exceptionally good and touched my heart.
I interpreted every one the way I believe they were meant to, but please keep in mind they are just opinions and the grading was not objective.
As I read each one, I took notes on what I felt and what I thought the poem to be about.
I am happy to present this year's winner of this poetry competition...
[ZÅ]JP!
Followed closely in second place was...
[ZÅ]ZombiePlato!
You two will receive an award for placing second or higher. Gold for JP, and Silver for ZombiePlato.
JP's poem follows:
Peasants,
you with your humility,
take care of the road,
make your responsibility
and quit that destiny.
Peasants,
leave the rocks
and take the bovine,
sing with your mouths,
and make everything, finer.
Continue, continue
harvesting and cultivating;
not just food,
but love and joy.
At the end of the day,
you’ll see everyone
without melancholy,
sing and celebrate
like you, mister peasant.
ZombiePlato's poem follows:
Each night father tucks me in bed
I can't help my feeling of dread
When he sits on the foot of my bed all I feel is dread
Not a word does he speak just gibbers and squeaks
He died when I was young
I dare not let those words slip from my tongue
I dare not look him in the eye for I fear what I will find
I simply say good night father of mine.
Honorable mentions were Vlexis' and ODST's poems. I created two 3rd place positions, I found them to close to give differentiating scores.
Vlexis' poem follows...
The Gear will turn
The Blood will flow
The Earth will yearn, forevermore
Learn, and always know
That our time is wasted here, among such misery and gore
The Dreammaker sings at dawn
Crimson wings it drifts upon
We feed on visions of aplomb
While sifted memories divide
Our slumber touches the divine
Sanctities sleep unsated
Dormant thoughts to be created
Beyond all time we are fated
To hold onto dreams that drag us to and fro
Where we came from, we will go
ODST's poem follows...
The fields burned, while the sky flashed.
Not a sound was heard, cept the howling of the wind.
High above, a lone giant stood, slowly moving through the sky it did.
Soon, the time would come, the end is nigh.
They had come in force.
Their goal was simply, they wished to murder all; above all, they had to clear this filth called humanity from the galaxy.
We tried to fight back, perhaps forestall this outcome, but alas, it twas not to be.
Easily wiping out our defenses, they laid waste to our world, and us.
One by one, our cities fell, our people turned to ash.
Now nothing is left for them to do, except to finish off but a few.
Suddenly, a sound I heard.
It came not from the giant above, oh no, but from behind a piece of cardboard.
Peering behind, I saw a young boy who sat with face in hand.
Ash and soot hid his face, while cuts and scrapes adorned his body.
I said, “Oh child, where are your parents?”
The boy simply cried.
I sat down next to the lad, when suddenly he grabbed a hold of me.
He put his head on my shoulder and cried. “Daddy, where is mom, where is mom!? I don’t know where she has gone, is she gone?” he said.
I knew I was not his father, but I also knew that in a time like this, I should comfort the lad.
I put my hands around him, and gave him a hug, and said, “Don’t worry, daddy is here”.
I just held him in my arms, when suddenly, a light appeared above, and the end had come.
Thank you for those who took this seriously and entered a poem.

Such beautiful poems - well done, all of you!
JP, your poem is exceptional, especially given that it's written in your second language.
I like Vlexis' poem a lot too - the rhythm is the best there, I think.
I wish I'd composed something now, but I never found the time to sit down and write. Will you run another, Revenge?
E: Also, meant to say that this remarkably coincides with the death of Seamus Heaney, a highly renowned and talented Irish poet. In the face of such a loss to the world of literature, it's lovely to see such potential in our younger generation.

Since my hax poem failed to win, but here is mine:
[ZÅ]Vulture
Vulture is someone who hacks
People fear when he attacks
Vulture would join ZA servers just to play
But none of the people would be there to stay
Vulture would use his sniper to aimbot
What a great battle the zombies had fought
When he reloads his sniper, he switches to his shotty
Pulling out suspicious shots that aren't nice, but naughty
The kills he gets will get him more cR and a better KDR
But with the blatant amount of killing done, he just went way too far
Vulture loves and wants to play Halo just to have fun
But will only cause the server from 16 to one
Oh Vulture, Oh Vulture, how would you be without these hacks
That's a good question because you would be one of those whacks
Although Vulture wrote this hilarious poem for people to enjoy the humor
But please don't call him an Asian or the Indian guy from Harold and Kumar
P.S: I hate you JP for haxing dat warp to win!! D:
