I applied at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and that was the only school I applied to. I knew I wanted to go there. I was originally going to do marine biology but I discovered that I would have to take a lot of Chemistry which I was bad at. So I switched to general biology. I also got my 8-12 life sci teaching certification and am currently waiting to find out if I passed the test to be universally certified in all the secondary sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, earth science and environmental science. I graduated in May 2013.
If any of you live in Texas or even those that don't, and want to major in any kind of marine science, I would suggest TAMUCC because they are right on the Gulf of Mexico (literally like 50 yards) and they have an excellent Biological sciences program.

I still got another year of school, but I'm still going to say to what university I want to go
I'm going to take geology and I think I will apply at University of Arizona or Arizona State University or maybe Texas A&M.

I would highly suggest that if you are wanting to go to a college in a state that you don't live in, you should first establish your residency in said state so that you can avoid paying the ridiculously high out of state tuition. I did this when I moved back to Texas by attending a jr. college for 2 years and then transferring to the 4 yr uni I wanted to go to. Even out of state tuition for the jr college I went to was only 2000 per semester vs like 13000 for a non res per/sem at the university. Once I was able to establish that I was a Texas resident again, I was able to get the 4000 per semester resident tuition cost at the 4 year school.
You don't necessarily have to attend the jr. college for the full 2 years either, just long enough to establish residency. Establishing residency usually means getting a job and renting an apartment/buying a house. If you live in the dorms at the jr. college it will be much more difficult to prove residency. Usually college's want proof that you "intend to stay in our state" so generally the more roots you can establish, the better.
Some of you might say well "they won't take my credits that I earn at a Jr. college" but here is the thing. Most colleges accept each others "core classes" like math, english, history and basic science. Once you move on to the 4 yr. you can take your major classes. Employers won't care if you went to a jr. college for 1-2 years because they will still see that you graduated from the 4 yr college. You just have to work with the advisor of the college you go to, to make sure you are taking classes that will transfer because otherwise it will be disappointing.

CARNAGE !!!! im already in junior college D: its good cause im ahead it shaves off 2 to 4 years off my degree, but, my parents can't rly pay that much, and since im already in jc and here in michigan yeaaaaa Im trying to find a school that will not kill my parents New Mexico Tech seems rather decent 24000 hell i could get prolly at least one more scholarship and get it down to 20000. Even my local state schools which i really dont want to go to cause i dont want parents 30 mins away -_- are like 30000 at least the decent astronomy and physics ones ;. so gotta keep lookin ;D

20000 per year is still pretty high...unless you're talking everything not just tuition.
