Recently a soldier was hacked to death in the streets of London by Muslim extremists. The reason the man said he killed this soldier, was because he murdered innocent Muslims in Afghan. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think this was a justified reason? Do you think weapon laws should be relazed due to the fact that police got there late? what do you think?

Yep that happened near my sisters area Oo That is such a stupid reason to kill someone. Now the EDL (English Defence League) is out for muslims...

I think that they are wrong to express their views in such a manner.
The killing of innocent humans (be they Muslim or not) during wars is an issue that needs to be raised, but killing more people doesn't solve the problem. Yes they may have gained media attention for their campaign, but in my opinion it's had a negative effect since they've sullied their message.
Their point would have been much better made through peaceful protest. The irony is important to highlight - if you're against murder you ought not to commit it!
It's unbelievable that these people know as "Extremists" have such a violent view based on their religion. We live in such a crazy world. I could start a debate on religion as well, maybe I will later.
I WILL BREAK YOUR POTS AND STEAL YOUR RUPEES
There is no reason for murder at all I do not support what he did any more then I support what soldiers and armies do in war. I'd hope one day the world will realize that death should never be forced upon anyone no matter what.
I would never trust nor be friends with Any Muslim associated person due to the fact of their religion. They are supposed to be about peace and many are, but the issue I have is the quran(Muslim bible) contains the first five books of moses from old testament and they don't believe Jesus died for the forgiveness of sin nor believe he was devine or crucified. This reason is a cause that makes them extreme and ok to kill is justified as they think their religion is the right one no exceptions. Should this man have acted in revenge against this British soldier, according to Islamic barbaric faith he believed it was ok to act the way he did. If you all read about Islamic faith you would probably have better understanding why some of them go extreme like this.

The group of muslims that use violence are called shias... just because that group does things like this doesn't mean you judge all muslims like this... If i told you im a muslim, Would it change your thoughts in anyway about me?

So you are saying he believed it was okay to act the way that he did? What if knowing full well the consequences of your actions (because unless this guy lived under a rock, he knows about what happens to terrorists) you read a ridiculously old book that says " you wanna kill this guy? go ahead and do it." Would you listen to the logic of "If I do this, I'm going to die a painful death", or the mostly irrelevant(due to age) book that you read?
Saying all Muslims have terroristic tendencies is religious profiling and also not true. I would recommend getting to know one, or even using logic. Because if all Muslims thought terrorism was okay, I would imagine you would see a full scale ethnic/religious war started by them before now.
I never said I think all Muslims are terroristic. I said and quote most of them at least in the united states believe in peace. Its the extremists who take the faith to far. And yes I think this guy thinks he was in the right and that Allah or whatever god he believes in will forgive like all other Islamic extremists. Because they all have the same and similar beliefs. How do you know which ones you can trust???? That's my entire point. I simply don't trust a single one of them.

I don't really agree with this sentiment. However, I will say that the influx of the power and presence of the Media makes crimes and issues like this far too prevalent in society today. There were many many more crimes in the past, however no one heard of them because the media didn't cover every crime that happened. Nowadays, the perpetuation of Media makes everything stand out even more and causes problems. I think this is what's causing an increase in radicalism: people hear about others and decide to do it also, and it's easier to find like-minded people to recruit to your cause, no matter how abhorrent (Imagine if Charles Manson lived today. His cult would probably be HUGE).

I'm going to have to disagree with his HUGE generalization. I believe that everybody, regardless of their beliefs should be accepted in society. I have friends that are Muslim, and they are not radical at all. A few of them even eat Pork (which you should know is against their religion, reading the Quran and all).
Christianity also has something to say about this.
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
Romans 15:7
Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
Even the Bible speaks of accepting others. Everyone deserves the right to be accepted, and I believe that this is something many Christians struggle with (Look at extreme Christian hate groups like Westboro Baptist Church, even Christians can be radical).
Just because someone is of one specific religion does not mean that they are more likely to be radical, extremist, or a terrorist.

Just because some specific people in a religion (Al-Qaeda and the Taliban) believe that it is ok to kill those not of their religion doesn't mean that everyone in the religion thinks that way. That's like saying every Christian believes that the Pope is one sent by God to lead them. There are different views within any religion, especially ones as large as Muslim and Christianity.

I have read about the Muslim faith. I have gone to a Mosque to see what it was like. If you really took some time and thought about Islam, you would know that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all have similar views. Both Christianity and Islam stem from Judaism, and one of the main differences is how they view Jesus (As a prophet, false messiah, or Son of God).
If you want to talk about how Muslims are hateful, then you really should do a study over the Crusades. Christians raided the Middle East, stole much of their culture, and destroyed temples.
Just so you know, I'm a Christian also. However, I do practice tolerance. I did Ramadan last year just to try it out. I think that the best way to learn about someone's religion is to actually study it and place yourself in your shoes, not by listening to what others say on the matter and blindly following.
In closing of this argument, I would like to say this: The best judgement comes from the heart, but the FINAL judgement comes from God. I implore you to look upon others with love in your eyes. As we do here in America, treat people as if they're innocent until proven guilty. I'm sure you'll find the world is a much kinder place.

Edit* Just to clarify, Islam believes that Jesus was a prophet sent from God. They don't believe he is a false prophet. However, Judaism believes that he is a false prophet.

How can you ever tell who you can trust? Make them prove that they are trustworthy. If I knew someone and they had a history of not being a terrorist, I would probably assume that they aren't one. And once you establish that the person isn't going to blow you up or stab you in your sleep, or something along those lines, give them a chance to be trusted.
Ok I'm done with this debate as nobody got my point. Para, you definately did not get it. I accept them and have no hatred toward them, and i would never think that cause of the taliban they are all the same. That is simply insulting to my intelligence. This is why i don't like to comment on debate threads. Most simply never get the point. enough said. I'm not commenting any further on this subject.

Herc, since we obviously didn't get your point. Please elaborate so we can all come to a better understanding of why not to trust muslims. I'm sure after reading a boiled down version of your point, we will all distrust them as you do.

Al-Qaeda is actually Sunni, and they attack Shias. Shias are nonviolent.

Herc, I get how you feel, but a hasty generalization is quite the fallacy. Perhaps the wording is a bit off. You can accept Muslims, but can't trust one of them? That seems like an oxymoron to me.
The Muslim community in general have been getting a lot of negative response especially after Boston, 9/11, the Taliban in Afghanistan, etc. But to put up the consensus that states you can't trust them is a little strange. I am Korean and my mother's family hails from the North. Can you trust me cause I might be a communist? There's tons of questions and statements like these, and most of the time they don't make a lot of sense. I'm not bashing on you, but I'm curious.
As for the topic, no I do not believe this was a justified reason to murder a soldier. A soldier gives up his right to choose once he joins the army, so if he were to kill under orders, he's supposed to do it or face the consequences. I am not certain whether this particular soldier was a "rotten apple" or not, but killing other people to prove a point doesn't necessarily justify it. I don't have sympathy for the murderer, but I do for the victim and all of the other Muslims in the middle east. These people do not wish to harm others and Muslims are very peaceful people. If you want to know about why there is hatred towards the U.S. and other western European countries, perhaps it's because these countries were the ones that bit first; not the other way around like many people assume.
