I'm pretty sure you don't need a $1500 gaming PC to run it. If Halo 3's graphics engine were old since the game was released for Xbox 360 in 2007, then it probably needs a PC worth about $700 to run it with CPU of Quad-Core or higher, 4GB+ DDR2 RAM or higher, and GT 420/AMD HD 5670 or higher to run its minimum system requirements.

 vult, my computer is on almost lowest graphics for Halo 1. Left 4 Dead (2008) runs at 1fps on the lowest settings. my graphics card is an abomination.

 It could be a fake too though, because after Halo 4 was released, GameSpot mentioned an article about Microsoft no longer porting any Halo's over to PC anymore as Halo would forever stay as an Xbox franchise. :/

JK, lol. They are custom maps for Halo CE, and I've read somewhere in Kotaku news about them asking a Microsoft member if Steam is going to release Halo 3 for PC on their behalf and the Microsoft worker said that isn't true. So Microsoft does not want any sort of partnership with Steam and spending their greedy billion stacks of $$$. Sad
