Halo is an old game and deserves to be respected. Though it has many flaws, it is like the ugly duckling... but in reverse order.

Halo at the beginning was a swan. She flew majestically in the wind, spreading joy to gamers' hearts galore. Not one troll would challenge her beautiful existance.

The majestic swan lived for years and years with all eyes upon her magical breast. Then, slowly, and slowly, the dark days drew in.

The trolls screamed and cussed at her...
"Go die in a hole, old hag!"

... while many of the gamers merely disappeared into the dark night without a single trace.

The swan realised that she was no longer a majestic, beautiful beast. Her friends had left her and many now turned to teasing and attacking her. She slugged away across the forests of flags and skulls, over the hills of kings, and came to rest at the bottom of a green hill.

Three little ducklings suddenly popped out of the bushes and stared at the swan with their bright beady eyes.
"Oh majestic swan, what has caused such sadness upon your incredible face? Hath thou been cursed?"

The swan merely looked away in sadness, her wings now soaking in the rain which had begun to fall without any warning at all.

"Oh, majestic swan, majestic swan! Please answer us! What has caused such sadness upon your incredible face?!" cried the ducklings.

The swan then swung her face towards the ducklings and swung her razor claws straight at them!

"Swan, swan! Please answer us! What has caused such fury in your wounded eyes?!" cried the ducklings.

Suddenly, the swan looked at herself. She saw her beauty and pride drain before eyes. She had few friends remaining. She then ran back towards the forests to see whereabouts her friends had gone! She attempted to fly! Not a wing beat!

"Ugly duckling! Ugly duckling! Please go away! We no longer want you in our majestic lands!" cried the trolls.

The ugly duckling looked up at the sky and saw only two banshees circling overhead.

The majestic swan was no longer majestic. She was old and had little use anymore. She was only an ugly duckling.
Then suddenly, just as the ugly duckling drew a knife from beneath her feathers, a bright light shone upon her eyes.

A screeching sound played against her ears, seeming to her like beautiful music.
"OPEN... SAUCE... OPEN... SAUCE!!" was the sound her ears now recieved.

And so the ugly duckling lived on to the end of her days with hope in her eyes again.
