Unfortunately xfire is unable to run smoothly and properly on my pc.
In the middle of my interview with Paradox my antivirus reset my computer and deleted xfire under the pretenses it has a keylogger.
Paradox, Rawr, Herc and i believe captain would back me on being a member.
I enjoy playing on the server and would love to represent the clan as an Honorary Member knowing full well i will not be able to advance in the clan further than that since i lack xfire.
I hope this passes if not oh well i tried but will continue to play with you guys

I'm fairly sure honourary membership isn't a thing and it's unlikely to be a thing. You'd do better getting Xfire to work (can you somehow whitelist it with your anitvirus?) and applying again.

i trust my antivirus more than my own mother. if it says keylogger and spyware found then i refuse to whitelist it. and thank you for acknowledging my suggestion.

If you downloaded it from the Xfire site itself (www.xfire.com) then I suggest your mother may be mistaken - I mean your antivirus may be mistaken.

download and install from original location i.e. from the xfire official website. There is no key-logger attached with xfire.

xfire is required, we use it like - all day every day. I'm sorry.

Xfire may be a darn terrible resource hog at times but your antivirus is wronger than your mother could ever be, and if your mother's anything like mine, that's very very wrong.
Just whitelist it. It's not dangerous in any way. If it turns out to actually break your computer, you can sue Hat. (My mentor takes responsibility for everything I do and say) |

virus definitions are very broad. im sure if you used steam it would throw a fit about that as well. i have used xfire for 4 years now on 5 pcs, have had mcafree (came with a dell) norton, avg, and several other antiviruses. not to mention anti-adware, spyware, and malware programs run on them. not one has ever flagged xfire or its components. if you dled from the correct link you may want to see if you are already infected with something. you did not tell us what antivirus it is, there may already be posts and solutions pertaining to xfire conflicting with this program. idk how advanced you are but your antivirus could even be scareware 0o just keep dem ghonaherpasyphilaids away!
*in the fine print definition of being server active* ....{FC}[ZA]Althor, will no longer be server active |

I never actually started interviewing you... both because I needed permission to, and because I was going to bed.
Read this thread
http://forums.xfi...-keylogger
While xfire does take note of your strokes, it's no more a keylogger than my internet browser is. Being able to type into it.. The program is registering my keystrokes and transforming it into words. The same goes for xfire. It registers your hotkeys. It's like a macro (if you don't know what that is, Google it.)
I suggest you get xfire anyway, because it WILL NOT harm your computer.
Thought you might wanna see this, if you never actually go to that site I mentioned.
Hey there,
Good question. Xfire does monitor your keyboard but only when you're playing a game. The Spyware program is probably detecting the startup of the XIG system when you start Xfire and that is tripping the alert.
We have to intercept your keystrokes in game to be able to do things like XIG. Xfire In Game, once brought up on screen actually blocks keystrokes from the game so you can type. Once you've closed the XIG window, the keystrokes pass through to the game again
You really don't/won't have to worry about Xfire doing nefarious things like keylogging or installing spyware. As a free app/service, we wouldn't last very long if we did things like that. We're almost all gamers here at Xfire (the Dev team are ALL gamers), and we approach our development from that direction.
Things like anti-spyware, software firewalls, anti-worm and other auto protect packages will always trigger on a behavior 'profile' for applications. In this case, Xfire fit the description  You'll just have to continue to do what you did and configure your antispyware stuff around the false positive.
Hope this explains it a bit,
-BAZMAN-
But yea, like they said, there's no way you can get into ZA unless you get Xfire. For numerous reasons
1) It's so damn handy. You can communicate with EVERYONE with it (and many halo-PCers use it)
2) Important updates for events that go on within the clan
3) Emergency contacts
4) Amusement (I talk to some ZA every day)
5) Punishment discussion: leaders can talk to you about behaviour if anything happens
6) Notifying admin if a bad player is in game
7) Promotion boards are held in Xfire
8) In game private discussions. Nuff said
9) Catching Shawn
10) Ability to communicate with you and others WITHOUT having to go in game or be on site. It's just so.. damn handy.
