FPS Drops to 1 Every 1-2Mins

Hello everyone, The title pretty much explains my problem im having, Every 1-2 mins my fps drops to 1 and this gets me killed alot on the servers. So i wanted to see if it was my connection so i played offline and it still seems to happen. Anyone know what the problem could be? This problem really angers me because before i joined za i never had any fps problems or connection problems and I hate looking bad on the servers

had a similar problem on my crap pc a coule of years ago, turned out to be harware interrupts eating up my cpu causing halo frames to drop. unplug anything you dont need (i pod, controllers, external devices, anything you dont need for halo) and see if that helps

Yeah I will try that. I'm building my pc in Christmas but i still have to deal with the problems of this one.

I get this occasionally if I have too much stuff running. Try what Althor says and make sure you don't have any other programs running. iTunes is terrible for my frame rate.

also a handy program that may help: process explorer. it can tell you where every little bit of ram, cpu, and gpu power is going, just google it. that is how i found out hardware interrupts were my problem. yours could be something different so if unplugging crap doesnt work try that next. feel free to x fire me if you need help.

after you disable all, you might have to re-enable your antivirus software and network. I use disable all, and my network and antivirus is still enabled so i don't have to worry about that. i just use disable all every now and then. this will make your computer speed up and disable unwanted programs running in the background. this might be useful for you
I did have fps dropping issue in the servers, so i just went in and bought a new video card, then my problem was fixed

Or uh... Task Manager. Which shows where every little bit of RAM, CPU, Disk, and GPU power is going. (Well, the Windows 8 one does anyway) |

well for windows 7 down task manager is not always very helpful and did not have enough info to diagnose my issue, PE did. also if he has fps issues on an ancient game like halo its pretty safe to assume he isnt running windows 8

Well, not necessarily. Windows 8's system requirements are quite low, and it's relatively cheap. I'd assume quite a lot of people have got Windows 8 for their old PCs because it's so power efficient. |
