Okay, so I have some Halo problems going on. Halo will not run. A window comes up saying I do not have enough RAM to run the game. I checked the processes running on my computer to be sure there was not a virus causing my RAM to consume itself. I uninstalled/reinstalled Halo 3 times with no avail. As I am going on vacation tomorrow I can not keep working on it until I get back. I believe I will have to reformat my computer when I get back, however the problem with that is the people who put Windows onto this computer did not give me a CD to boot a fresh version of Windows. I will have to call my brother over to give me a copy of his CD and reboot it. Until I get Halo up and running, I'll be server active. See you guys in-game soon (Hopefully soon!). |

The ram notification is just something that Halo does with 64-bit systems because it doesn't know how to recognize RAM in 64-bit systems.
Have you tried clicking 'continue anyway'?
Because the "not enough RAM" notification is superfluous.
You could expand a bit more on what problems your having, if any.

That's really the entire issue, and I know the warning doesn't mean anything. When I click continue anyway Halo boots, then shuts itself off. |

1. Have you tried running Halo in safe mode?
2. Have you tried restarting your computer?
3. Have you tried booting your computer in safe mode?
4. Have you tried running Halo in compatibility mode?
5. Have you tried moving save data to a temporary folder in case it is corrupted and affecting Halo?
6. Have you tried using the -useff target line parameter?
7. What changes have you recently made to your computer/halo, if any?

I have done all of those. I gave up on it, malware or no malware, it's time for a clean anyway. -useff would have nothing to do with it since I have realized it is not Halo that is causing the problem. The only change I made to my computerHalo was injecting a non-valid tag into a campaign map, but I solved that. Thanks for the help though Mator, I appreciate it. |

I had a problem like this when my dad put me on Windows 7, for 1 week I was trying to fix it, I sent my pc to my dads and asked him to put Windows XP on. Then it worked again.
Also I upgraded my RAM and some other things, what I also thought could be the problem.
Well I hope you fix the problem.

That would of happened because Win7 uses A LOT more ram usage than XP. If you have 2gb of ram with Win7 halo should work. |

Haha, I have Windows 7 and a dual core processor ( I believe it's dual) with some 6gb of RAM. The computer's hardware has nothing wrong with it. Now, I have heard of older programs not detecting certain RAM types and drivers since it is old. However it was working on my computer for months, so I don't think that could be the problem. |

Yeah, check your drivers. It's possible that halo isn't working with them properly. Update if possible I s'pose.
Otherwise a wipe+fresh install of windows is a good idea.

I'm not going through the trouble of all that, I'm just going to wipe everything when I get back from vacation. |
