Books or Audio Book

i find i get more out of a real book because i can read it nd look at the actual words. the audio book is hard to understand sometimes and if you want to go back it takes more time. for ease of convenience i would use a book. seems easier  what do you think

Paper books for the most part appeal to me more. Besides being more aesthetically pleasing, I feel more in control and can easily refer back to earlier parts, skip out boring parts, or re-read certain sections.
That said, sometimes Audio Books are more useful - if you're trying to multi-task holding a book is hard but you can easily have headphones on. They're also a better alternative for journeys in vehicles, I find. There's also less to carry!
It sound obvious, but if you can't read then Audio Books are great.

Books are better because you can read it own your own way.
When I used to read all those Harry Potter books, I LOVED reading in silent, like the sounds would come out only in my mind. Get me? |

Paper books will always be a part of our culture imo. I know people who collect books from the earlier centuries due to the rarity and sheer intricacy that you can only find in books. Especially from earlier centuries.
Personally, I love paper books. I think they are pretty and give off a good appearance. But coming from a student, I would rather carry around an iPad/Kindle Fire than lug around a backpack full of books. Even in daily reading I prefer to eBooks simply because I can get them on demand and it is actually easier on my eyes. Especially at night.
As for Audio Books, I don't care for at all. Takes the fun out of reading imo.
Just my 2 cents.

You've forgotten to include nooks and kindles in your list of options. But of the three, I prefer the real-deal. Have you ever read Fahrenheit 451? Very good book. Anyway, i like to write in the margins and fold down pages and really make books mine - specially the good ones. And also, I can't get my favorite author to autograph a kindle or an mp3 player, so deff the paper version, LOL!

I think with real books its easier for me to visualize the characters and hear how they sound in my head (like brick said). I don't like kindles because you just can't beat the feeling of holding a good, thick novel in your hands. Also if you buy a book on the kindle and end up not liking it you've wasted money. With real books you can go to the library or sell them.

I'd much rather read a real book rather than read dots on a glass screen. In my opinion everything is getting to convenient. What happened to going out of your way to rent a book, and have the obligation of returning it in time? |

I think they're about the same. The Kinle has this fancy technology so it's like you're actually reading paper, it's pretty impressive - not a glass screen like an iPhone or something.

^ That is true and it also doesn't have a back light so the whole reading-in-the-dark part is about the same challenge as a real book. My parents bought me a kindle, and I usually only use it for my school summer reading (aside from the mandatory book we learn about in class- that I buy a real copy of) or if a book has just been released and my parents refuse to take me to the store (not big book fans). But even if I buy a copy on the kindle of a book I have still gone out and bought a physical copy so I can easily reread certain parts of the book or just to have an entire series in print.
Real books are easier to look back and find certain points of, though it is faster to get the entire story downloaded on a kindle vs going to the store.
Personally: Books>Kindle>Audio Books (which you can get on kindle as well, but I hate audio books so I don't)
