Wanker Posts: 871 Joined: 15.11.10	i recently just rediscovered my baseball card collection and i wanted to appraise their value...the only book i have is from 1992 so thats not very useful and all the sites online are subscription based. any help or places to look ps. maybe the local library might have some books on price?

Admin Posts: 6130 Joined: 20.11.10	To find out the TRUE value, you'll need to get them appraised by a professional, cause of the grades of each. Plus, if you're looking to sell them, getting the grades certified by an appraiser increases the value of the cards, so it might be worth the investment. There are books in the library, but who knows how old they are, also, if you don't know what to look for, they might not be that helpful. One way to get an estimate on how much they're worth is ebay and craigs list. You'll see what other ppl are selling them for. If they're going for a lot of money, then you know it will be safe to spend the money getting them appraised. If they're not going for much, just hang on to them. I had some old coins once, from the colonial days, and it was super expensive to get them appraised, so I just checked auction sites, and they were going for like $10,000, turns out mine were fakes. LOL! Sucks, right?
