a noob's guide to surviving zombies

we all get infected by the zombies once in awhile. but there are some of us ... "cough" shawn (joking) "cough", that just seem to die over and over and over. thus the noobs lose and the terrorists win (i mean zombies). just how to survive you ask? heres how:
1. know your location
just where the hell are you?! are you in close quarters like chrion? or a big map like infinity (no longer used thanks to people who abused camping....). a good knowledge of the map can mean the difference between the life of a human or... a brainless infectee. the map can also make it easier to choose the weapons (close quarters calls for shotguns and pistols) is there a spot to hide from 15 zombies who are chasing you down like a bunch of inmates and the new fresh guy at the prison. is there a spot to camp? how many places can the zombies reach you? a good spot to be in, is to make sure the only way in or out is towards you (like wires on gephy) a bad spot to camp is under a hill ( do i even need to explain?!)
2. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!
time and again, a noob is killed off because they didnt look behind them, nor did they look before entering a corner ( an example is when we were at danger canyon, another guy and myself were running through a tunnel when suddenly a zombie "name withheld" came around and killed the player next to me, luckily for me i had my trusty shotgun (i keep it for close quarters) and blew him away...) in conclusion, awareness of your surroundings (even merely glancing at a spot) can mean survival.... for at least 30 secs
3. weapons
the weapons are one of the most important tools of survival, but which to choose? lets start with a basic infantrymen's arsenal, a pistol and an assault rifle with 1 or 2 grenades. this is not a bad combo for the starter. either you can use the pistol to wear down the blues from a distance and kill them with the AR, or you can use the AR to weaken them and finish them off with the pistol. as for the grenades, wait until the zombies have become hoards (gathered close together) or you can you a zombie in one spot to trick them into running to where you've thrown your nade. now lets move on to other weapons. what about the shotgun? well the shotgun is undoubtly THE best weapon for that zombie thats too damn close for comfort. with 60+ max ammo for it however, its best to wait until they're closer to kill them off. next the sniper rifle. the sniper rifle (in the hands of a pro, the sniper rifle can down a dozen zombies before he has to switch) is the best weapon to show compassion to zombies (it can reach out and touch the zombies from the otherside of the map. just dont use it in chrion or any close quarters
this has been a basic guide to surviving zombies for noobs. but you want my advice? leave it to the pros |
