A lesson, esp. one concerning what is right or prudent, that can be derived from a story, a piece of information, or an experience.
A person's standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do.
Morals are NOT laws. Morals simply form a base or guideline for what people tend to do. Morals cause individuals to withhold themselves when they believe something could be wrong.
Society as a whole has formed a set of morals that *most* individuals adhere to. This includes refraining from killing, intentionally harming others, rape, exc.
That said, Morals are not laws. It may be morally wrong for me to kill somone in defense of my house (if only because I said so), but it is necessary. On the opposite side, it IS morally wrong to rape a girl, no matter any circumstance.
Also, in defense of Hat, he never implied that Rape was okay in any way. Just because he doesn't believe they come from God doesn't mean that he hates/doesn't have morals.
Now that said, I don't believe that morals and homosexuality are in any way related. Just because you personally don't believe that homosexuality is correct doesn't diminish the fact that there are millions of people who disagree with you. There isn't even anything against Homosexuality in the Bible! I mean, the only thing people use (Sodom and Gamora) is false! They were simply 2 cities who were evil in the eyes of God (not homosexual, mind you) so he destroyed them.
Personally, I don't believe homosexuality is wrong. If you want to say it's something in someone's mind, then remember that they're God's creation. God loves all of his creations, and God is Love. Just because someone is different than you doesn't mean they deserve to be hated, and doesn't mean they are morally wrong in any way.
And by the way, I'm an Non-Organazational Christian. If you wanna ask me about my beliefs, xfire me.
I wanna be like RAZ!!! [ZÅ]Paradox

Paradox, I never said morals were laws, I said they are LIKE laws. Laws also form a guideline of what people tend to do, exactly like morals, except there are consequences by other humans.
But let me ask you this, what happened if we never had morals or any base or guideline for what people tend to do?
I know God loves all, I know homosexuality is wrong, but God doesn't want us to hate them or treat them differently.

Where did I suggest that, Brick?
When you said it's natural for homosexuality and murder to exist as human behavior. So rape must be natural too if murder is.

Exactly. Read what I type last page. I said very clearly that rape, murder and homosexuality are all part of natural human behaviour. Read more carefully and you will see that nowhere have I said that human nature is always right. In fact, I said that we need a different way of determining what is right and wrong, such as how much harm it does.

Hold up...
Who said we need to have right or wrong? Do animals have right or wrong? Please explain this "right or wrong" thing.
Murder has a negative effect on people. Therefore, this is morally wrong.
Rape has a negative effect on people. Therefore, this is morally wrong.
Telling someone that they suck has a negative effect on people. Therefore, this is morally wrong.
Being heterosexual does not have a negative effect on people and, generally, people are much happier if they are allowed to be heterosexual. Therefore, this is morally right.
Being homosexual does not have a negative effect on people and, generally, people are much happier if they are allowed to be homosexual. Therefore, this is morally right.
We need these morals if we are to function correctly as a society. We have evolved these morals (or at least have passed them down through generations) because humans who have them have a much more functional group and so procreated more. Those without morals tended to die out sooner. (See: Natural Selection). Many animals do not have morals as such, or at least on the same level as humans, as they get by fine without them. See what I'm getting at?

I'm not trying to pull your leg but:
-Murder doesn't always have a negative effect. So how can it be morally wrong?
-Rape isn't always negative either. Rape is a form of dominance.
-Homosexuals isn't always positive, can be negative too.
-We need morals because we get USED to it by growing up in the society. There are societies with NO WRITTEN LANGUAGE and they do fine. Morals are made up, not in our genetics. Same way as words and letters are made up, so are morals. You don't need morals to live, according to your statement of everything is natural...
Having morals is a choice and it is how many humans function. You can always function without them.

A: Pulling someone's leg is like tricking them/playing a joke.
B: As a general rule, I think you will find that murder and rape does tend to be quite bad. If you would like to defend how great rape is, I'm sure you can make that our next debate. You'll have a lot of backup there, I'm sure.
C: Do you deny that if we allowed homosexuals to be homosexual in the same way we allow heterosexuals to be heterosexuals without discrimination that would be a good thing? Would that make them happier? And, once all the homophobes had gotten over it, would it actually affect their lives? Any negatives (and please, feel free to list these) are far outweighed by the positives.
D: Who brought written language into this? Language isn't morality.
E: If societies that didn't have morals could exist just as well as those with morals then why today have we all accepted these morals and why aren't completely moralless societies widespread? In fact, please name a moralless society.
F: No, you don't need morals to live. That's not what I said. What I said was that morals help us to live better. By that reasoning, you could also say that we didn't need to evolve at all. All we need to live is to be a single-celled bacterium at the bottom of the ocean. We don't need eyes or anything, we can still live.

Well I meant literally pulling your leg with my words...Lol ok I didn't know exactly what pulling leg really meant, but I did mean it in the way I just explained xD
How about murdering a dictator that was killing everyone that did something he didn't like? That's not bad. Or getting men in prison to rape a guy that stuck his fingers in a 5-year-old girl butt (true story)? Rape and murder is not always bad.
Dude just look how society is now-a-days, you and me hate how stupid everything is in media today. It's all the bullcrap they put on air for people to watch, one of the bullcrap is a factor of homosexuality in them. Such as making cartoons for kids, but the makers putting homosexual content/ideas in them, such as SpongeBob and Patrick in a few episodes. (I love the show btw)
Language is natural for humans, so is morality. It's something we humans MAKE UP. I was just using it as an exmaple.
There are so many moral less societies it's not even funny. Think about serial killers, loners, or people who just don't liek being out there or just came from a confusing background. You can see this in many parts of Europe. Where people hang out and just chill. I know these are not the BEST examples but those are REAL examples I can think of right now.
You actually think that a lawless and moral-less society would not exist without problems...

These would still be wrong. I've already discussed similar issues on the "Death Penalty" thread though, so I won't go into it here. Suffice to say that 'eye for an eye' is an outdated principle which has no positive outcomes, and disrespects an individual's rights.

There's no reason why homosexuality, as a sexual orientation on the whole accepted by society, shouldn't be portrayed in film/literature/media etc.

This seems contradictory to me: how can it be natural and made up. Surely it's either natural (and therefore inherent) or artificial (and therefore acquired)?

You actually think that a lawless and moral-less society would not exist without problems...[/color][/b]
You've given example of moral-less individuals, not a whole society to which Hat was alluding. If everyone in a society behaved like this, it wouldn't function well. Therefore, a society of individuals with morals has been naturally selected.

So murder is taking an individual's right ( to live), but didn't Hat just say murder of another is natural of human nature? That's why I like living by the 10 commandments as I said in the God debate thread.
There's no reason why homosexuality, as a sexual orientation on the whole accepted by society, shouldn't be portrayed in film/literature/media etc.
There isn't anything wrong with it, if most of society accepts homosexuality. But most of society doesn't. So imagine the effect it will give to kids of heterosexual parents.
This seems contradictory to me: how can it be natural and made up. Surely it's either natural (and therefore inherent) or artificial (and therefore acquired)?
Like made up by humans. It is natural for us to make up a language to communicate from one individual to another, or many. Same way with morality, it is natural for us to make it up, to keep a direction of our offspring future. Remember, we start from home, not society.
You've given example of moral-less individuals, not a whole society to which Hat was alluding. If everyone in a society behaved like this, it wouldn't function well. Therefore, a society of individuals with morals has been naturally selected.
Yes it can function, if everyone just do what they got to do to live without making trouble with someone else. Ninja, it seems like you're telling me it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a PERFECT RULES/LAW SYSTEM.

I'll repeat myself once against: Natural DOES NOT EQUAL Right.
The effect is that they will grow up aware of homosexuality and not alienated to it, as some people are keen to ensure.
This seems contradictory to me: how can it be natural and made up. Surely it's either natural (and therefore inherent) or artificial (and therefore acquired)?

Ok, so, we make up morals. Whether they're handed down or genetic, remind me where this part of the debate is going?
You've given example of moral-less individuals, not a whole society to which Hat was alluding. If everyone in a society behaved like this, it wouldn't function well. Therefore, a society of individuals with morals has been naturally selected.

Let me put it this way Brick: it is perfectly possible, you will agree, to live with no legs. It is possible for an entire society to live with no legs. But it is much more difficult. If you hop over the iron curtain (a rather cruel verb to use to people with no legs) to the country where everyone has legs, you'll see people find life much easier.
In the same way, a moralless society, while not impossible, is not going to function as well as a society with morals.

my signature broke, here is a fox snek:
-Why can't natural be right? So what is right then?
-Hat idk about in the UK, but in most countries children are grown up and separated by sex, such as when watching TV, all the girls in one room and all the guys in one room. Imagine the kids in each room experimenting with each other. Yes that is normal, but with the cartoons with homosexual content, they will most likely keep experimenting more often, increasing the chances of them growing up homosexual which would lead to many problems. Hat just being curious, do you have any homosexual/lesbians in your family or close friends?
-They are handed down, not genetics. The point of this is that how can murder be wrong? Which is closely related to my first line of this post, which is what is right/wrong of murder if we don't have morals.
-A society with morals...look at the world how it is... Morals degrade, change, twisted, etc. that it just causes more problems than anything. Just like Ninja said, a lot of the murders are happening because of religion (different MORALS). That's why many Christians don't considered Christianity a religion. I believe they are a religion because things have been changed and twisted over time.
Edited by ZA BrickSquad on 10/18/2012 10:02:56
Yes, I am friends with three bisexuals and two homosexuals at the last count.
For what I hope is the final time: Natural and right are UNRELATED. Don't mix them up.
There's no real reason why children would be experimenting if they're not interested. And if they are, so what?
Ok, let's say for the sake of argument they're handed down. I don't have the energy to find out either way. It is wrong because as I must have mentioned four or five times in this thread it causes harm.
So now you're saying that we'd be better off without morals? Well, if so then we can't say that homosexuality is a moral issue cos we may as well throw morals out of the window.

[12:38] [ZÅ]HatofLove: Firstly, just becuase something is natural, doesn't mean it's right.
[12:38] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Why not
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: why does something have to be right?
[12:39] [ZÅ]HatofLove: Secondly, I believe right and wrong should be decided by how much harm/good it does.
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Well who invented right or wrong?
[12:39] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'm not saying anythign has to be right

[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Thank you so much Hat
[12:39] [ZÅ]HatofLove: what does that even prove?
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: You proved my point lpol

[12:40] [ZÅ]HatofLove: natural and right are unrelated.
[12:40] [ZÅ]HatofLove: that's like saying an apple is a fruit and a tangerine is a fruit so there's no such thing as a potato

[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: your no fun
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:46] [ZÅ]HatofLove: nope, just setting fire to a school
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: jk ill find it now, give me 1 sec
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: okay wait!
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =P
[12:46] [ZÅ]HatofLove: that's fine, right?
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes, ill find your answer now, give me 1 min
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: well first off, what's your reasoning behind the setting school on fire?
[12:47] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'm bored
[12:47] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: okay wait.
[12:47] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol nice
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =P
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'm not jealous of the school
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: tolda ya
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: never said that
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i just want to set fire to it
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes, which means if yo uset it on fire, it's yours
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: caleld stealing
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: called*
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: let me ask you something
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: if i set somethign on fire, it's mine?
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: what?
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: settign something on fire that is yours, is normal
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: i was gonna ask you something liek that
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: is it? ok
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: as long you follow the 10
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad:
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: ok so i'm setting on fire a school
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: is it yours?
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: explain how the 10th commandment prevents me form setting fire to sc hool
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: no it's not mine
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i don't own many schools
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: then you cannot do that
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: your destroying someone's else property, making it yours because you have to clean it up
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: and pay for it...
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: or build it
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: which ever
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: give me another example please
[12:50] [ZÅ]HatofLove: you know, i think you're stretching it
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: really?
[12:50] [ZÅ]HatofLove: yes, a lot
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol how so?
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: okay
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: wait
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: before that
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: the law of murder
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: in the UK
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: does it say: No murder.
[12:51] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i set fire to somehing so it's mine cos i have to clear it up? haha, no, when was the last time you had to clear up a building you set fire to?
[12:51] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i imagine there is a law against murder in the UK, yes
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: wait
[12:51] [ZÅ]HatofLove: there's no one in the building though so that doesn't matter
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: chill i cant answer 2 at the same time
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: ima answer the uk first
[12:52] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: So the law must be one sentence long right?
[12:52] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: or pages?
[12:52] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =P
[12:52] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: mayb books too? volumes
[12:52] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:52] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: the 10 commandmants are just simple
[12:52] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: for the people
[12:52] [ZÅ]HatofLove: and that makes them better how?
[12:53] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: makes what better? the 10 commandmants > uk laws?
[12:53] [ZÅ]HatofLove: yeah
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Well I think the 10 commandmants are the perfect laws. just 10 around the WHOLE WORLD
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =P
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: easy right?
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: they cover everything
[12:54] [ZÅ]HatofLove: they dont' cover me setting fire to a building
[12:54] [ZÅ]HatofLove: do they cover me punchign someone in the face for no reason?
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes it does
[12:54] [ZÅ]HatofLove: where?
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: do not murder
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: no murder
[12:54] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'm not murdering them, brick
[12:55] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: you dont know
[12:55] [ZÅ]HatofLove: just punching them
[12:55] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'll make sure, dw
[12:55] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: you dont know if that punch might kill them
[12:55] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'll brb, gotta make a pizza
[12:55] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: i win
[12:55] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:55] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i know very well. i couldn't kill someone if i tries
[12:55] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: cuz your not developed
[12:55] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: why would you do it in the first place?
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: it cant be for no reason
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: we are humans, we have reasons for our actions unless we are mentally ill
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: or drugged out
Well can you guys tell me which are ALL the points I "contradict" myself, so I can rephrase it and make it easier to understand. I think it's just the way I word things.
ZA BrickSquad wrote:
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: why does something have to be right?
I never said it did.
[12:39] [ZÅ]HatofLove: Secondly, I believe right and wrong should be decided by how much harm/good it does.
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Well who invented right or wrong?
[12:39] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'm not saying anythign has to be right
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: EXACTLY
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Thank you so much Hat
[12:39] [ZÅ]HatofLove: what does that even prove?
[12:39] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: You proved my point lpol
[12:40] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: my point that there is no such thing as right or wrong if homosexuality is natural and murder is natural too right?
[12:40] [ZÅ]HatofLove: that doesn't even make sense
[12:40] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: No, it's that you don't want to comprehend =)
I find this patronising.
[12:40] [ZÅ]HatofLove: natural and right are unrelated.
[12:40] [ZÅ]HatofLove: that's like saying an apple is a fruit and a tangerine is a fruit so there's no such thing as a potato
[12:40] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: right doesnt exist if you think we came from a microscopic thingy
I've explained what I think right is, it has nothing to do with evolution.
[12:41] [ZÅ]HatofLove: in what way does it not exist?
[12:41] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: God doesn't exist according to you
[12:41] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: So we came from evolution?
[12:41] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: right?
[12:41] [ZÅ]HatofLove: yes
[12:42] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: So why can't i rape a girl? She will die and you know the cycle, nitrogen cycle, etc. gives back to Earth
[12:42] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: i mean murder*
This is a completely ridiculous thing to say. Because there is no God, you can rape a girl? Firstly, as Albert Einstein said, if we are only good people because we live in fear of a God then we're not good people at all (I'm paraphrasing). Secondly, again, right and wrong has nothing to do with evolution. Thirdly, does the nitrogen cycle stop existing if there's a God?
[12:42] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: same way as an animal eats another
[12:42] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: we dont arrest the animal
[12:42] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: LOL
[12:42] [ZÅ]HatofLove: Ok, firstly, the negatives of raping a girl outweigh the technicalities of the nitrogen cycle. secondly, what does that have to do with god?
[12:43] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: God = no murder
[12:43] [ZÅ]HatofLove: animals are not governed by our laws last time i chcked
[12:43] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
[12:43] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: who cares about laws
[12:43] [ZÅ]HatofLove: *cough* Cain and Abel *cough*
[12:43] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: we are talking about life
[12:43] [ZÅ]HatofLove: clearly you, since you pointed out that we dont' arrest the animal
[12:43] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Cain and Abel?
[12:43] [ZÅ]HatofLove: the story of the first murder, in the Bible
[12:43] [ZÅ]HatofLove: they were two of adam and eve's sons
[12:44] [ZÅ]HatofLove: abel gave god gifts of lamb and stuff
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: do you really believe the Bible? I beleive in God but i cannot read the book.....
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: i know the story
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:44] [ZÅ]HatofLove: cain could onlky give him what and whatever
[12:44] [ZÅ]HatofLove: so he got jealous and killed abel
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: jealous is illegal by God's standard
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: jealousy*
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: it;s in the 10 commandmants
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: the perfect laws
[12:44] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
I think I proved how imperfect the 10 commandments are. If they're so perfect why does every country feel the need to add more? It's because the 10 commandments don't cover me setting fire to a school, that's why.
[12:45] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i think i've made it clear many times that i do not believe the bible. but if you're not going to believe the bible, why should you believe anything in the ten commandments? which were in the bible?
[12:45] [ZÅ]HatofLove: is there a commandment that stops me form setting fire to a school?
[12:45] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes
[12:45] [ZÅ]HatofLove: which on?
[12:45] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes there is
[12:45] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: no murder
[12:45] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
[12:45] [ZÅ]HatofLove: who says i'm killing anyone?
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: you aren't?
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: your no fun
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:46] [ZÅ]HatofLove: nope, just setting fire to a school
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: jk ill find it now, give me 1 sec
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: okay wait!
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =P
[12:46] [ZÅ]HatofLove: that's fine, right?
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes, ill find your answer now, give me 1 min
[12:46] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: well first off, what's your reasoning behind the setting school on fire?
[12:47] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'm bored
[12:47] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: okay wait.
[12:47] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol nice
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =P
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i'm not jealous of the school
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: tolda ya
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: never said that
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i just want to set fire to it
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes, which means if yo uset it on fire, it's yours
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: caleld stealing
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: called*
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: let me ask you something
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: if i set somethign on fire, it's mine?
[12:48] [ZÅ]HatofLove: what?
[12:48] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: settign something on fire that is yours, is normal
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: i was gonna ask you something liek that
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: is it? ok
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: yes
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: as long you follow the 10
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad:
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: ok so i'm setting on fire a school
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: is it yours?
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: explain how the 10th commandment prevents me form setting fire to sc hool
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: no it's not mine
[12:49] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i don't own many schools
[12:49] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: then you cannot do that
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: your destroying someone's else property, making it yours because you have to clean it up
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: and pay for it...
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: or build it
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: which ever
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =)
So you're saying that the 10th commandment stops me from committing arson because when I set fire to something it become mine? Well, fuck, I'm gonna set fire to someone's house. Then, when the fire's out, it's mine, right? Why dont' I set fire to a whole street and move away 1000 miles. I own an entire street in Ipswich and it'll stay mine forever because I'm not clearing it up. It's an incredibly flawed and stretched argument, Brick. The 10 commandments are decent guidelines but they're not by any means perfect laws.
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: give me another example please
[12:50] [ZÅ]HatofLove: you know, i think you're stretching it
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: really?
[12:50] [ZÅ]HatofLove: yes, a lot
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol how so?
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: okay
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: wait
[12:50] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: before that
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: the law of murder
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: in the UK
[12:51] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: does it say: No murder.
[12:51] [ZÅ]HatofLove: i set fire to somehing so it's mine cos i have to clear it up? haha, no, when was the last time you had to clear up a building you set fire to?

[12:52] [ZÅ]HatofLove: and that makes them better how?
[12:53] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: makes what better? the 10 commandmants > uk laws?
Yes, please do tell me why three words are better than many in this case.
[12:53] [ZÅ]HatofLove: yeah
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: Well I think the 10 commandmants are the perfect laws. just 10 around the WHOLE WORLD
[12:54] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: =P

Um.
[12:55] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: lol
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: why would you do it in the first place?
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: it cant be for no reason
I'm bored. I'm frustrated. I don't like the people who own it. I was made to do it by someone. I am being paid to do it. That enough?
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: we are humans, we have reasons for our actions unless we are mentally ill
[12:56] [ZÅ] BrickSquad: or drugged out
So the 10 commandments don't apply to the drugged out now? Interesting. Clearly, not the perfect laws.
I'm sure Ninja could pick this apart further if he likes.
