I was stuck in this "OMG, I'm going to get caught by the police (not scary) and they'll tell me mom (VERY VERY scary)" paranoia. It was awful. I had already been busted by my mom a couple of times and she said one more time she would take away my car and kick me out. The last straw was when it rained really bad and the street flooded, along with my car - then the moisture stuck in the flooring made some old pot seeds under my seat and in the back seat start to grow. She was pretty pissed.
So I had to quit - LOL!

it all depends on how you look at it. if you make it legal then that makes supply go up & also the illegal suppliers will go out of business. however it is a very bad habit to pick up. my opinion is to make it legal for awhile to see what happens. ny guess is the consumption will go down cause it will be easier to get. but thats just my opinion

Lol see, I actually sometimes smoke in public walking down the streets, just need to know your surroundings. Never been arrested or to court (: That's hilarious how they grew in your car!

See how you think? Why does it matter on how we look at it? Why do you care about opinions? Let's get straight down to the facts instead? Not trying to be rude or anything lol...
Yes and you are correct, but remember, marijuana is only illegal because of capitalism. It's purposely illegal to make money off of it.
And you can't just make something legal and watch what happens -.- That's very irresponsible of a COUNTRY, or whatever jurisdiction legalizes with out proper testing and proper predictions on uses and stuff. Have you ever notice how all companies do polls/surveys? Or the commercials that say they would actually pay you for answering questions??? It is a way a company can see what it's customers/potential customers want, or how would people view changes, possible prices, etc... It's all business in this world(;
But the whole truth of why America made it illegal, I honestly don't know YET... |

yeah i guess how i said it came out wrong lol. and you never know the government could be the ones behind all the illegal activities lol. i just dont think that cannabis is a healthy addiction. i think the problem is poeple dont want it legalized because they make so much off of the sale of it. but i think america as a whole is a very irresponsible country right now so making it legal would be a bad idea. lol just sayin lol

I believe that cannabis should be sold in the world market because of the amount of money that can be brought in from international trade. For example according to the 2005 United Nations World Drug Report, the total value of world’s marijuana market is $141.80 Billion.
164 million people use marijuana around the world.
. It could also possibly lower the amount of users if it were made legal because usually when you tell someone not to do something they generally want to do it more. Under the Misuse of Drugs Act cannabis is classed as a substance with no medical value. However, incalcuable amounts of anecdotal evidence and increasing amounts of modern research has found that it is useful for an incredibly large number of symptoms. Due to increased media attention, many members of the public are now aware of certain therapeutic uses. Some of the more common ones are detailed below.
AIDS
Cancer chemotherapy
Chronic pain
Epilepsy
Glaucoma
Menstrual cramps and labour pain
Migraine
Multiple Sclerosis
So with that being said I think it should be legalized for the reaasons stated above. |

When I made this thread, I meant the debate to about about use of cannabis for leisure, not medicine. As far as I'm aware, in the UK at least, cannabis is legal to be described for relief on the NHS (National Health Service). Although, I don't know much about the use of cannabis in medicine, I should think this would be acceptable, so long as the use is advised by a medical expert.
So, perhaps legalising cannabis would have a good effect on the economy, if your stats are correct. However, laws really shouldn't be governed by a greed for money - that would lead to a completely corrupt system. What needs to be taken into account in the well-being of the country/world and its population. By introducing a drug to the general public, the dangers of which are not known enough to make an informed decision, the government is acting irresponsably on behalf of its people.

I don't think so......forgot about drug dealers? Some people actually deal drugs because it's only what they can do to help themselves and others. And if any of you are going to say something ignorant, think about it...
-Real example: I know this guy (making this plain and simple for many purposes), which gives out most of his earnings to the poor, the ones in need of basic living necessities; he would give them food, water, shelter, and protection. |

You have a choice about what you want to do with your life - nobody is destined to aid the intoxication of others ...
Have I said something ignorant?
That's very good of your friend, if only we had more people with such a great deal of care and selflessness.

No nothing ignorant said, I don't think you would, you're an intelligent man.
Well let's say you made mistakes in you're younger days (let's say 14 to 17 years old) and you're stuck with 2 felonies. You have twins coming on the way, you got no work because it's almost impossible to get hired, especially during bad economic times. What are all the felons and their families going to do? Oh, just quit selling drugs and girls, and starve? Oh no, how about robbing people at gunpoint, if not, burglary? You understand where I'm going?
There's a purpose behind every law. It's just so complicated and over lapping and levels and technicalities, etc... Complex, but good enough way to keep the society tranquil, at the same time still having a generally good control of the population trying to avoid as much problems as possible, while balancing many other things at the same time such as jobs for prisons (get me? harsher laws might increase jobs for prisons, to control the growing population of inmates). But of course, the system is not perfect. |
