Should developed countries help third world countries such as Africa

It's funny how most humans don't care about global problems or problems in other sides of the world.
Sometime I'll stop on my bicycle, blazing Miami sun cooking me, take a sip of my Gatorade and wonder what a kid my age is doing right now in a different country, such as Saudi Arabia.
I hope one day we can turn the world upside down and focus on important things, not wealth or full power over others. |

Knowledge is what we are missing. Just with knowledge, it's enough to get people to want to learn more, which in the long run everyone will be fighting to be wealthy in knowledge. |

I believe developed countries have no obligations to assist undeveloped countries such as Africa whatsoever. Having that stated, I would like to venture further into that. The government of said developed country should not be funding other, more poor countries. For example, in the United States, many people do not want their tax dollars to be assisting Africa when the United States economy is already in the shitter.
However, there is a fine line between having an undeveloped country as a liability versus assisting that instance of a(n) undeveloped country(ies). Private donors are the optimal method because it has the potential to add to the reputation of the give society, and there is absolutely no expectation of the said country to help the undeveloped countries. Also keep in mind that the undeveloped countries are undeveloped because of the choices made by the people and it's government. Granted, there are some circumstances that do limit growth and progress, but for the most part, the status of the society boils down to the choices the people and it's government makes.

Hello, sir. You must be new to the Debate forum. You see, in this forum, people are actually trying to have intelligent conversation. It was to my understanding that this particular forum was exempt from rules 11, 12, 14, 25 and 26. Hell, just toss them all out the window. This is supposed to be civil talk here.
