Emerald was my childhood game. Still have it and my gba sp, and I stand by this completely when I sayit was the best pokemon game ever (.....imo). Swampert, Salamence, Metagross, Milotic, Flygon and glalie was the team I used (I know it's not the best by far but they were my fav's) I rocked the main game and battle frontier with this team and had all of them lvl 100.
And yes I was not eaten by a giant sharpedo in the middle of route 130

Boy you've got some late game powerhouses...... I didn't like Flygon very much.... So slow for a dragon.

I was just playing Emerald earlier today. Gen 3 games were the first Pokemon games I got to own because I didn't have a Gameboy until the Advance, but I've been a fan of Pokemon since I was like 5.
Also: I got X today.

As for Pokémon X and Y's new feature, I love it so much:
Stylin' and Groomin'. I even tip the photo guy in the game after the pictures, lol. Already got like 5 level 100s in the team along with over one million Pokédollars earned with total of 80 hours played so far.

Did you know that Vivillon is the number 666 Pokémon on the Pokédex?
It also has 18 different forms; 6 + 6 + 6 = 18

The only Pokemon game I've played was Diamond and I am happy with that.

If you still have your DS somewhere, then get Platinum and beat that first. Then get Black and White and after completing them, get Black 2 and White 2 next. If you have enough money to buy a Nintendo 3DS, then get that next and try out the new X and Y.

What is all of this new pokemon you speak of. I still watch the first pokemon movie on VHS.

I put that list based on the timeline from Kanto region games all the way to the new Kalos region. So for example, when Heart Gold and Soul Silver were released after Platinum, it doesn't make any sense from Sinnoh region going all the way back to Johto again.
