My new computer doesn't want me to play halo online. Everytime I try and play, I'm laggy and warpy and I get disconnected and stuff. I tried playing on classic a few days ago, I lagged out when I got 2000+ ping.
Its not my router because I just played halo on my old computer and I got 0 lag. I would play on my old computer more, but its annoying not having a space bar, and it overheats so fast.
My new computer doesn't get any connection issues when i play other games online. Just halo.

Did turning off the Anti-Virus and Firewall help you solve it? Remember, only turn off your internet security whenever you're playing online multiplayer games. And then turn it back on when you finish playing. If that doesn't help, then message me on Xfire and I would have to do further more investigations through Teamviewer.
I know nothing about this sort of thing, but I hope you can get it working right dude! (Because earlier Super Llama was warping all over the place. xD)

Firewall is built into the Anti-Virus..lol. But if you don't have an Anti-Virus scanner, then it will just be plain default Windows firewall. Once you've installed an Anti-Virus software, it will replace the default Windows firewall. So yeah, disable your current Anti-Virus when playing an online game and whenever you're finished playing, turn it back on. Also make sure you turn off auto updates and disable the security protection from the Anti-Virus permanently so that it doesn't automatically turn back on again or does a random software update.
i have never played halo with wired connection. I get perfect connection when i play CS:GO, and my other computer has no problems with connection in halo.
That's understandable, CS:GO and Halo utilize different methods but same techniques.. CS:GO designed for DSL and greater while using UDP, while Halo was designed with dialup still in mind while using UDP.
Have you tried different servers located else where for Halo?
Have you updated your drivers for the wireless card/nic?
i have tried about 5 or 6 servers. 2 were random servers and i got 66-400 ping and got the usual disconnetion and warp. I tried classic (the one in the video) and prostats a few times. and then the OC server. I dont get disconection signs on the oc server, just lots of warp and ping changes. i played a lag free game of halo yesterday on my old computer in the oc server.
Yeah starting to sound like an acutal halo.exe or imported dll issue now. But doesn't hurt to try and make sure your wireless nic is updated and could tweak the settings via device manager.
What I probably do is make sure your not utilizing any addons (Organic, HAC2, XFire Ingame, etc) and see if it fixes it. If not a I probably do a uninstall/reinstall of the entire game, could have gotten a bad install.
There are some other things, but I would try these last due to the nature that they could jack up windows if you accidently click something wrong.
Could something be wrong with the disk? The disk lived in my old computer for 4 years. I don't see any big scratches, just tiny stuff if i look really hard. My computer stopped allowing xfire in-game with halo randomly. Also when i open halo, it minimizes it and i have to click on it again. Computer really doesn't like halo.
I have tried compatibility mode with xp service pack 3 and windows 7, neither of those did anything.

I got this computer 2 weeks ago, would I need to update them already? I just tried playing. Turned off firewall and antivirus, and it worked kinda. Still got a few disconnections and warp, but a lot less. Don't know if i was just lucky or it actually helped. P:
If the computer is prebuilt (HP, Acer, Dell) more and likely most of your drivers are outdated. Just due to the fact that it has been sitting on the shelf for a bit. And sadly, most OEM providers do a pretty bad job keeping their website updated with them as well after a few months.
Kinda wondering is this a laptop or a desktop?
Although I pretty much assume it has a NVidia Graphics Card/Chipset in it due to the Invisibility portion of the video. Could be wrong due to settings being low.

So you said that you never played Halo on wired connection right? What is your current network speed? Do a speedtest and paste the result here. http://www.speedt... Also if you have a shitty DSL net, then you're definitely going to lag playing with wireless. Halo is an old game with outdated netcode, so you can't go lag free without a decent net. Better suggestion would be getting a router plugged into the modem and hooking up an ethernet cable from your computer/laptop to the router.
