So to allllllllllllllllllllllll the noobs/numnuts/nub basically all my comrads out there. My question im about to ask is directed to those who have touch screen phones.
Have anyone had a touch scrreen phone last them more than a year without a problem this mean not replacing it. If so what kind of phone you have and what phone service?

i had iphone 3gs for over 2 years and no issue with the touchscreen at all. i have been using iphone 4s now for over a year now and no problem at all so far...AT&T
EDIT: i gave my iphone 3gs to my brother and he is still using it. so it's been over 3 years now for iphone3gs

I currently have a iPhone 3GS had it for 2 and a half years and everything is working perfect except for the battery which is draining out fast.

I had an iPhone 3GS with AT&T for two years and I loved it. That was back when they had unlimited data and then they changed their plans so I'd have to get limited data so I switched to Sprint, kept my unlimited data, got the iPhone 4S and saved about $60 a month overall. When I first got Sprint I got the Galaxy S2 which I hated and took back and got another iPhone lol. I know that people have a think against Apple products and honestly I would probably never buy a Mac Computer but I love my iPhone. It's super easy to use because the user interface is so user friendly even my dad used my phone with ease from the first time he used it. The menus are laid out logically and the screen is very vivid and easy to see. Plus there are thousands of apps from the app store.

IMO, iPhone 4S is the one of, if not the best ,smartphone out there for Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon. For an extra hundred dollars with the iPhone 5, you are just getting LTE (and if you don't live in an area with LTE you aren't getting that, me for example) and a slightly faster processor. Wait for the 5S if you are going to get one later. The new Galaxy Note II and SIII (for all four major companies) have the best hardware specs out there. Better than iPhones in hardware terms. Nothing but good reviews from those two. It is Android however, and if this is your first smartphone, if will be a little tougher to get used to than iOS; not impossible though. You will also get more control over your phone.
My recommendation is an iPhone 4S. You will be getting an AMAZING phone for $99. It caters to great service providers, has the most apps, easy to use software, better camera than the iPhone 5 imo (due to the "Sapphire lens" cover that kinda screwed up the iPhone 5's camera), good battery life, and of course, it is an Apple product.
I have had my 4S for a year now and not had one problem with it. Great battery life, no screen cracks, and it has always proved to be functional in all aspects. I have dropped it tons, dropped it in water, etc. I would recommend an OtterBox though for perfect protection.

I've had a iPhone4 for 2 years, and it worked perfectly. Dropped it many times, and it still retained it's quality, which I loved. Also, the iPhone has the best looking display for a smartphone out there. Sorry but, other phones that have better specs(GalaxySlll) look cheaply made. However, I cannot say that for it's specs, of course. I currently have an iPhone5 for Verizon, and it's amazing, as usual. Oh, and #teamiphone, lol. Btw, to go back to what Carn said, I wouldn't get a mac, either. I'd just make a med-range gaming rig, and pay about the same price.

I've had an HTC Wildfire for about 8 months. It's still working fine, and I'm fairly happy with it. Seems to have run out of space fairly quickly though, but I haven't looked into memory expansion. I like the Android OS, but I've never had an iPhone so I can't really compare.

I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 mini, very good, no problems so far and just fyi, this year the Samsung galaxy has outsold the iPhone. :s |

i have an HTC HD 2 and i have it over 1year i dont have any problems with it
So i dont have to repeat it that often: Im from Poland and i live in Germany lol

Lol, my brother had one of these for about 4 years. He had burnt it, dropped it from a 3+ story window (multiple times) and dropped it in water a few times and she was still good as gold!
It was real out dated though so he went and got a drop proof, shock proof, water proof and scratch proof Motorola Defy as he works on a farm... He's had that thing for ages and has done unspeakable things to it :s
Not sure if that's the exact one he has... |

Nice. My old one I stabbed with a knife, burnt, left in a glass of water. It only gave up when someone hit it with a shovel (baseball-style) and it wouldn't read the sim card anymore.

Oh yea and the Samsung Galaxy s3 mini is pritty much the same size as the iPhone 4s but the Galaxy has a faster processor etc. (I think?)

Specs for those two are almost one par. Same processors; different people will say different clocked speeds. 4S has better screen and camera but I believe the Mini is on all 4 major networks and a bit cheaper.
