only one way to remember your dream
keep a pen and a paper handy near your bed
if you wake up right after your dream, write it down whatever....you can remember at that time, then go back to bed
wake up and read your notes

I had a nightmare recently, I pressed a button and got a note in my hands wich said 'they are comming', then a very loud noise appeared as some sort of alarm and a big truck stopped, 2 people carrieing a coffin on their shoulders step out. I ran and hide but they were slow and just walked trough walls, there was no way I could escape and then they finally reached me when I cornered myselfD:

I think I might have an answer that relates to Psychology.
When you sleep, your mind goes through cyles- Deep sleep (not much brain activity/dreams) and REM sleep (lots of brain activity/dreams) cycle back and forth. As you sleep, your sleep gets less deep, and your REM lasts for longer. Usually, you wake up immediately after the last REM session occurs. These are the dreams people remember.
What could be happening with you, is after your last REM period, you experience another section of deep sleep, and you wake up BEFORE another REM period occurs.
Before and after REM in the cycle are periods which movement (rolling in your sleep) occur. These periods are also when you can wake up. If you wake up before your last REM, then it probably contributes to you not remembering your dreams.

I did this from memory of reading the Hockenbury and Hockenbury Psychology Text, Ed. 5
