Just thought what everyone's thoughts are on or examples of irony is..wiki's definition of it.

Isn't it ironic that Stacy always hangs around with us (ZÅ's) in both the servers + website and yet Stacy is too lazy and also regrets wearing the tags? xD

Irony, at least the way we use it when analyzing literature, is when the outcome of the poem, story, event, whatever - isn't what was expected.
In the real word, irony works mostly the same way, and generally has a negative connotation, which isn't true in literary analysis. In Lit, it can be positive, negative, or neutral.
So the lyrics of Alanis' song could be ironic, but its a very negative version of irony. See in the song, she keeps expecting things to go well, but everything just goes wrong. Her song is more "bad luck" than "ironic" though.

Also, that album of her is currently in my car cause I was jamming out to it last week, LOL! Love that album. Man, Lazy- yer old. That song was popular 11 years ago!

So i'm reading the Wiki now of the song, and it game out in 95, WTF! That's quite a bit longer than 11 years ago, but it was still popular when I was in high school, which WAS 11 years ago. Amazing.
