Game name: Bring your tank back!
Gametype name in server list: tanky
Objective:
It starts with one blue person while the rest of them are reds. A tank will be spawned at red base. The blue person must go all the way to red base and grab the tank and then bring it all the way back to blue base in order to win (Near blue base flag; usually mattering on the tank's original spawn.)
NO GRENADES, HEAVIES, NEEDLERS (BECAUSE THEY'RE ANNOYING NEEDLES THAT FOLLOW THE TARGET), AND PLASMA PISTOLS (BECAUSE THEY CAN BREAK A TARGET'S SHIELD WITH ONE FULL CHARGE BLAST) ARE ALLOWED!!
When the blue is walking on foot, then the reds cannot kill him/her. But once the blue is driving the tank, then he/she cannot get out of it as they have to keep driving it by following the gametype objective or try to defend themself by running the reds nearby over.
Blue has 5 lives (Depends on the map too for a balanced gameplay) to bring the tank back to their base. If all the 5 lives are out, then blue loses.
Reds on the other hand have infinite lives, so they keep going till blue runs out of all his/her lives or blue wins by bringing the tank back to their base.
The blue cannot kill the reds by shooting them with guns/melee along with shooting with the tank. The blue can only kill reds by running them over with the tank.
Everyone will start out with 200% health and shields on and also starting with default Assault Rifle and Pistol weapons.
Reds using weapons such as Assault Rifle, Pistols, Shotguns, Plasma Rifles, and Sniper Rifles are allowed except the ones mentioned above.
Once the tank is moved to a certain area after the blue person dies, then the reds cannot get in it and drive/melee it around. The tank is to be remained untouched till the blue gets in it again and tries to drive it as close as possible to their base. (The vehicle spawn is set to being off, so you don't have to worry about the tank respawning back to base.)
Maps that this gametype can be fun to try and play at: Blood Gulch, Ice Fields, Danger Canyon, Sidewinder, Timberland, and Death Island.
The blue with most kills along with least deaths would get to pick the next map/gametype.
If you guys have any suggestions or want to add anything to this gametype, then please let me know. I won't finalize and make the gametype yet till you guys share your thoughts about it and also for a better gameplay experience/balance for both teams.

I think it sounds too easy for reds - they can just snipe the tank or get a few pistol shots on it.

That's why I put 200% health. If not, I can easily change that to 300 or 400% health instead.

Take blood gulch for example couldn't the reds just get on the far side of the map and wait in the middle? if the blue can't by the time it gets far enough to run one person down on one side and starts making its way back we would easily be able to finish it off.

Well, the gametype isn't about running people over in a tank for the blue to win. You would only want to run people over in a tank if you're in danger like if any blues go near your tank as they will try to headshot you out by standing at the front. So you can easily twist and turn your tank to run them over if they get too close.
