@Hat, you mock American law yet tour statement disgusts me that any parent in a right state of mind would allow children to consume alcohol at such a young age. At least our laws are past the dark ages. No offense. |

I wasn't saying that happens, Herc. And it doesn't. But what the law does mean is that, for example, a sixteen year old can have some champagne responsibly with his family at New Years and all is well. You could even say that by drinking under the supervision of your parents, drinking is seen more as a social family activity rather than some coveted substance used to get drunk (not that I'm saying everyone thinks that).
Anyway, drinking in the home is unregulated in most countries. The UK putting a limit at 5 years is 5 years more than most countries.
Fun fact: the US has the highest drinking age in all of Europe and the Americas.

This is the law in America that most people don't know about. I bet no body in here knows this.
I know a cop and this is what he told me only couple weeks ago.
In america, your parents can give you alcoholic drink regardless of age (means any), but it must be inside your house and not outside or anywhere in a party, but it has to be your parents. That means if you are 5 years old, in America, inside your own house and not neighbors, if your dad or your mom hands you a beer, it's legal to drink it.

Stuntmans right, but it goes a little further than that too. The Parents have to be in view of the child the entire time of consumption. If your child is drinking on one side of the house and you are on the other side not watching, its against the law even if you gave them permission.

For the record this post was not meant for debate until hat laughed at American laws. I was merely posting a pic a cool beer related to zombies as our clan is zombie assassins. Well this beer is very unique in taste. stronger too. I actually get a buzz from two of these. Normally would take me about 4 or 5 normal beers. Good stuff |
