When i saw that lots of people camping and no full admins was there,i had an idea.I was thinking that when the humans are camping and they wont stop, they would have 30 seconds.if they stand still for at least 30 seconds without moving that they would die and be infected. i thought of the idea and i think u guys should think about it.

Although not a bad idea I think nobody would play if that's the case and the rage quits would be out of control. |

people will camp in a specific spot but wont be staying at one place for 30 seconds. players will be moving around in that spot looking for zombies to kill.

I only said 30 seconds because if someone wants to talk about something they need time to talk but for the walking thing some people don't even walk around, anyway this was just a thought.

well actually if this idea has popularity and people want to play no camp then it was going to be scripted into the server and fully automated. so if you enjoyed it show your support and encourage others to do the same.
*in the fine print definition of being server active* ....{FC}[ZA]Althor, will no longer be server active |

I don't think this would affect gameplay at all, positively or negatively.
Also, what althor said.

I like skyline's idea. It is very hard to enforce rules without an admin present. I like the idea of having a no camping server. Makes it easier on the zombies, but unless an admin is present the camping becomes a big problem. |

Smiley made the scripts to cater for a no camping server. It has been done. Pretty stable too. Slim might have the copies of them.

The script that was made tracks the movement of players. If within 30 seconds the player does not move a good distance from their location, they will be changed to blue. Works well on small maps due to the fact that the camping areas are usually small (Rat Race, Battle Creek, PutPut, etc.). The larger maps however, DC, DI, and Gephy, have larger camping areas (the ledge, sides, ends of cliffs, etc.). I think Smiley never had those maps in the rotation however. Just smaller maps where his script worked quite well.

I have a copy, but I think Smiley requested that his work not be used. Not that he needs it, but if Slim is up for scripting this, he could get inspiration from the existing method. From what I can remember of lua, it's just a timer that just checks whether a player's displacement in a certain time period is greater than some constant. You could vary that constant to account for different map sizes, although of course the human's speed would have to be sufficient.
