If you run into a group of people camping, and you see an afk person DO NOT KILL THEM. If you kill them you succeed in doing 2 things
1: alerting the other humans there is a zombie close by
2: Congratz, you now have an afk teammate to give humans free kills on. That will help infect other humans(sarcasm)
rather, bypass him, and hit the threats, then go back and clean up the afks.

I have a few players who still asked me for ZA Pro Tips so I shall continue with this thread. Once again it is up to you whether you want to follow this thread or not. However, if you want to get as much kills, credits as you can each game, I reccommend you should at least take a look at this.
My next topic is about throwing grenades. Yes, everyone knows the importance about using granades to kill zombies, but few players actually mastered the skills of using granades for different circumstances:
1. When going through a tele or turning a corner of a narrow corridor, throw a granade behind you so you can slow down or kill the zombies that might be chasing after you.
2. Practice using the wall to angle frag granades to reach zombies you otherwise can't (i.e. zombies hiding behind pillars), just like bank shots for basketball.
3. Use the granade as the cover for you to reload; throw it in front of you to preventing zombies from charging you as you reload.
4. Try to at least one granade with you at all times. It is useful if you notice a zombie getting cover from your bullets but still reachable with your spare granade.
5. If there is a human in front of you, think twice before throwing a frag granade. The frag may hit the human, blocking back, thus killing you instead. |

This is another tactic I enjoy using, esp. as zombie: make your enemy look one way, go the other way. For example, on Boarding Action Lvl 5 (where the campers are usually sniping), I usually go up the incline, as if I am about jump down and ambush them. Usually, the humans guarding the corridors will spot me doing this, so they will divert their attention to the top of the incline, expecting I will jump down from it. However, I will instead jump down from the incline and charge through the corridors, surprising the the humans guards. Depending on the skills and reflexes of the human guards, I either succeed on infecting at least one human camper or I don't. However, element of surprise is always good for zombie players.
omg idk if you noticed but i love doing this, it almost always works! So simple but yet no one ever catches on!

When you are human pay attention to who dies via server chat!
I have had multiple instances where a human watching a important area would get infected and the zombies were able to over run a huge group of humans who were to focused on their area and didnt pay attention or realize who was infected.
For example on Danger Canyon i will watch a bridge and find out who is watching the other one. If I see that the human or humans watching that other bridge become infected in server chat then ik that their side has been compromised and i will now have to watch my back. I can't tell the number of times the guy who stands on os spawn sniping zombies doesnt pay attention to server chat and doesnt realize a bridge has been taken till he gets infected. Pay attention to not only your side but to how the others are doing as well!

When you are a human on a big map, look at where all the other humans are. When you are infected, it makes the hunt easier.
If this was posted already, soz.

I keep track of names of nearby humans as well, esp. when they are about to go through a tele. If they get infected RIGHT after going through the tele, NOPE, I am not going to follow them in. I know tele camping is not allowed, but I always see players doing it, particularly when there are no admins around. Esp. in putput.

I follow this strategy as well, unless if I need an instant infection in order to quit (w/o "rage" as zombie. In that regard, an AFK human is a miracle gift from the Halo gods.

Yes, this is a reason why I tend to move around when I am LMS on a large map. |

I haven't noticed it before, but I'll keep that in mind next time when we both play at BA. Thanks MasterA+.

I have recently played ProStats and realized that this tip can really help out the zombies: one of the best ways to ambush a group of humans is to jump down on them from a higher elevation. Human players tend to look left and right more than they look up.
Places where this tip maybe useful:
1. Boarding Action, Lvl 5 Incline
2. Prisoner, Top Level Jumping Down
3. Battle Creek, when there are humans still on the ground next to a base guarding the tele, jump down on them from the top of that base
4. Battle Creek, jumping from the large tree branch down to top of the red base
5. Hang'em High, when there are humans (who decided on to camp) staying on the floor
I'm sure there are more places but I can't think of them on the top of my head.
As a human, I will always make sure there is another human on the level above I won't have to worry about zombies jumping down on me. If not, I am forced look up once every few seconds. Unfortunately, the most other humans around me don't do the same thing. They keep their eyes peeled left and right, but not up.

I just played ProStats and I haven't been Alpha Zombie for 14 games straight. So it does pay off to suck it up and not RQ.

Also at night time its easier to not be alpha sometimes. Like on the nights the server stays full the 4 alphas usually quit before the game ends. When they quit others usually take their place and are now eligible to be alpha. If the 4 alphas stay they can't be alpha next game so in a full server, lms is one alpha, that leaves 11 ppl for the 3 remaining alpha slots. But if the 4 alphas quit and ppl take their place then no one is safe from being alpha so 15 ppl for the 3 remaining slots, way better odds to dodge being an alpha.

I agree, I really think there should be more incentives for Alpha Zombies to stay, such as getting extra 100-200 cr. at the end of the game.

I have another question:
When shooting at zombie(s), is it better to press and hold down the mouse (for a stream of shots) or keep on clicking the mouse after each shot? Does it also depend on what weapon you use?

Depends on the weapon and the range. If I have a shotgun and rifle on Prisoner or something then a can use a rifle as a mid-long range weapon if I do short bursts. The pistol also (as you probably know) has much better accuracy if you click individually instead of holding down. Shoot a wall over a fair distance with a pistol, first by clicking individually, then holding down and see how big the difference is.

I think clicking is always best.

narrows the assault rifle and the pistol shots and makes them more accurate.

I agree. I usually hold down the mouse when I have short-to-mid range weapons, such as the shottie or the AR, but I click individually for longer range weapons, such as the Pistol or the Sniper.
