I got my first cell phone when I was 13. But I've never had a smart phone.

I had a cell phone for about a week in high school cause my best friend was due to give birth. Then no cell phone again till I was in my early 20s, I think 22.

The first video game I remember playing was Halo PC when I was around 6. Halo was like the only game I ever played until I was about 10. |

--Atari 2600 (circa 1985)
fav games: Pitfall, Missile Command, Space Invaders, Combat
--Pong. Yes, pong, as in the most simple program ever (pre-dates Atari but I was already into vintage games at young age)
--NES (1988, mowed lawns all summer to buy it. Had thumb blisters so bad after first night that I couldnt use thumbs for a week, goddam D pad)
fav games: Mario Bros, California Games, Breakout, Tecmo Bowl, Blaster Master, Kung Fu, RC PRO Am, Excite Bike
--GameBoy (1989, one of the first kids in school to buy it, thought I was soooo cool)
fav games: NBA All Stars, RC Pro Am, Tetris, Dr Mario
--Sega Genesis (1990?)
fav games: Mortal Combat, Road Rash, Flashback (AMAZING game for the time), Streets of Rage, Pitfighter
--Sega Game Gear (1992?)
Fav games: Didn't love that system, still have it though lol
--N64 (1997)
fav games: Turok, Forsaken, Golden Eye, Star Wars Racer, Rainbow 6, 1080
--PS2 (2000)
fav games: Podracer, Tekken, Mortal Combat, Thirteen, Burnout, 13
--XBOX
fav games: HALO 1&2, Burnout 3, Area 51, Need for Speed
I own a PS3 and have probably played a total of 2 hours on it in the last 3 years lol. I just use it for Netflix.
Got my first cell phone when I was 19.

Me and Johnny boy used to play "jump the cracks" on our way to the general store, but then those motor cars became widely available and ruined our fun

Legos, Tetris, Basketball, tossing an old baseball around wiyh my father, Super Mario Bros. 3, Turok, 007 (N64), Cruis'n USA/World, Halo 1/2, Pizza, Hot Dogs, Slurpees, Camping, Sleep in till 1, RuneScape (when it was kick-ass and not extraordinarily easy to play), catching fire-flies, making pointed sticks, building an awesome fort in my neighbors shrubs (it was really nice, we had weights and lots of "defenses" , climbing trees 30 feet+ with no fear, climbing around on a playground, watching ants scurry around, and of course DUCK HUNT!
These things summarize my life as an adolescent.
I am sorry for modern children that are forced to grow up before they have a chance to be a kid.
This thread reminds me of how special life can be and how great it is to have these memories. Thanks for making it.

Hey, I am glad i made this too! I get to know you all better and we get to share our childhood stories. I may only be in 9th grade (I consider my childhood from my first memory to age 10). I remember playing tales of symphonia, metroid, smash bros, or 007 with my older brother. Good Times those were , but now he is in college and I barely see him |
