Slim, I think its possible to make a "agree/disagree" feature before new players start to play. We should compress the rules down to a list of 8, then when players join they have to type "I agree" to start playing.
Then they have no excuse for not reading the rules

And then it's easier to ban people, too. They can't just come on the site and be like "this admin bannd me nd I didn even now the roolz"
We have the rules clearly marked. It's easier to get people to listen to you. I agree that people DO come to the site, but I think it would be easier t deal with trolls, and maybe even keep a bit of order in the server when no ZA are on.

How about before the game starts like when we are at the Rejoin in 0 screen, make the server text auto spam something like:
Type @rules on how to play!

i played in ZA servers long before i joined the clan, or even visited the site. i managed to learn the rules without arguing with admins or checking the site. it is fairly simple, if admin says dont do something, dont do it. admins have rules and standards to follow too. and they do not make up rules. admins who dont do the job properly dont stay admin.

But the issue is that players shouldn't have to come to the site while playing a game.
Although any player that's been playing for longer than a week, nevermind a year, should know the rules. Playing for a year and not knowing the rules is ridiculous. |

In Custom Edition the rules come up when you join a server - wonder if we could have a system like that, but where you can opt-out of seeing it?

I don't think that kind of thing is necessary. If you have broken rules to the point where you have been banned then you have either not been listening to or actively ignoring warnings. If people don't want to listen to us then they have no excuse for being banned and 'I didn't know the rules' is never an excuse because you will have been warned.
And, Jaz, I get the feeling that Winning does know the rules, through common sense and/or warnings. You don't have to play on our servers for long to know what you can and can't do. Any extra work for Slim would be largely pointless. The only thing that I would be in favour of is the condensed rules appearing when a new player first joins the server, though most people get along fine without this.

Just got a chance to read this, and my feelings are mixed.
1- I placed the poll to get your opinion on the matter.
2- If this is somehow disrespectful for actually doing what you have suggested, then don't tell people to go on your website.
3- I don't play on your servers consistently, but I have played halo for years now, and when I say I've played here for a year, I mean that I joined ØZ a year ago and began playing under the name Winning a year ago.
4- I feel like some people are avoiding the issue, which is that by not giving people direct (direct meaning right there) access to your rules, you give yourselves the ability to kick/ban without reason. It also makes it hard for people. I have a computer I got in 2005, I run Halo smoothly, but the time it takes to open a browser and get on your website is a LOT longer than typing @rules. It is for everyone and to try and justify it being somehow shorter than doing @rules is ridiculous.
5- I disagree with the argument that people who don't come on the website or go on xfire as lazy- that insults a majority of players as very few get on the website. At the beginning of this, it was said I was disrespectful for the 2nd poll option. This wasn't disrespectful, and the person who pointed it out then stated it "wasn't [their] problem" which shows my choice of words were not in vain and proven; I thank the responding member for his defense of me.
After reading these responses, the only legitimate argument is that the rules are too long, which I agree may be an issue, and if they could be spread out, that would be fantastic (@rules, @rules2, etc.) I do appreciate those who agree with me, and the poll shows most of you do. If you please take my request and the request of a majority of your players into account, it would be appreciated by the halo community!

You are very disrespectful and if someone is already online on a computer and chooses not to come to the site which takes as much time as any other site to load, then there is no other explanation except laziness or callousness. I stand by that comment and feel that it's honest.
And if everyone on this thread says you're disrespectful, its probably you and not the rest of the world that wrong. We've resolved the issue so take your disrespect elsewhere. Your tone and wording make it so, whether it is your intention or not. Communication works more than one way and if you're offending people with the things you say, you should work on learning to communicate more effectively. You'll catch more bees with nectar than vinegar.
Coming onto our site, complaining about our admins and servers and accusing of abuse is like going to someone's house and complaining about the food, temperature, cable provider. It's rude, and unwelcome.
