So hmm to describe this game. 1/3 FPS 1/3 Sandbox 1/3 RTS? I was just going to see the interest in this game before I buy. It's still in development so there would be things that go wrong for instance gathering chicken meat from every single animal. It is incredibly hard to survive on your own though. People who get this should be willing to talk in teamspeak if we were to do this as a clan. So just post if you are interested or not here

$20 Razzy
I think $20 would be too much for Raz. He needs to save it for some plastic surgical muscles to impress the fat and ugliness of Eva Mendes and Mila Kunis instead, which would then again never happen.

Razzypoo think how many gumballs you could buy with $20!

All the people I know that own this game say they get spawn killed often by naked men.
I prefer DayZ, I found a hero squad in Standalone that protects me (well, everyone protects each other) and we all find and share weapons ammo and food. we all work well together. I heard they implemented berry-picking into DayZ today as well.

I would consider it if lots of others get it but honestly I'm not really into getting raped by naked men...

This is what was said about 20ish days ago about each Alpha (of similar games)
So a lot of people are questioning which is the best, DayZ, Rust or Nether. Well the simple answer is none of them. They all exceed in vastly different areas and fall short in others. In this video I give you a quick overview of what I like and don't like about each game and let you decide which one is right for you.
PSA! All three of these games are currently in early access alpha. This is a comparison of the alphas, if you are watching this at a later date the information might be skewed or even biased. The date of this comparison is Dec 28th 2013.

Rust: Most hardcore pvp experience, Crafting is wonderful and adds a lot to the game, my personal favourite for my personality. Lacks content currently.
Nether: Feels most complete, Beautiful graphics, very quick gameplay. Great for people wanting instant action. Lacks a sense of risk and has some very concerning and questionable business models.
DayZ: Attention to detail is wonderful, huge expansive map(to big for me personally), with a lot of work it can have a lot of potential. EXTREMELY poor optimization on many setups, lacks content (3 guns currently), feels currently like a step backwards from the mod. My personal suggestion is to stay away from DayZ FOR THE TIME BEING unless you want to support the dev, it's buggy clunky and often frustrating.

Its a standalone. MasterA and I are getting it tomorrow. DayZ is a "standalone" its still running on Arma engine.
I'll play it with you guys if you want.
Going back to what you said previously, DayZ isn't all that laggy. ArmA games (and DayZ now), are notorious for having large packets of information being sent from the server to the client (and vice versa). The most common form of "lag" you will see is when you or someone else drops an item, it takes a couple of seconds for it to appear on the ground, unless you experienced the worst bug in standalone, where the item that you dropped disappears. All servers have occasional moments where you lose connection for a second or two. Every server resets after a given number of hours (it's different on each server). I've heard mixed reasons as to why they reset every couple of hours, but I usually hear that it's because the server logs became very large after a certain amount of time and a lot of entities may spawn while the server is up, causing lag for everyone, so restarting it removes these issues. It runs on a modified version of the Arma II engine. Also ArmA has dsync which is where the server doesn't send you the coordinates of things on the map quick enough so people and items aren't where they actually are. For example, if you are in the passenger seat of a car, and the car suddenly veers off course and goes through a wall, it is probably dsync (unless you're driver is drunk or just a terrible driver). The driver didn't actually do that, but since the server didn't tell you that the driver was going straight fast enough, your game believed that the car just veered off and went through a wall. It can sometimes be a nuisance especially when it happens to players (you see an enemy but he dsyncs through the wall).
DayZ standalone is not that buggy. I see many people complaining about it. It truly isn't as buggy as you would think. If you don't believe me, play the mod version, then the standalone. Obviously there are bugs, but most are miniscule.
There are only three guns, however that will change. The game can be quite fun with a group of friends. It's challenging. You gotta know where things are. Luckily, if you are new to the game, there is a website that has a map of standalone that contains every point of interest and shows you where good weapons spawn.

Look at the standalone map.
Also, ArmA games are again notorious for not being the best optimized games, however after launch they do get more and more optimized with patches. You also need to know that the game is CPU intensive. Especially when entering cities.
Standalone also has a more extensive map, where you can enter almost any building, unlike the DayZ mod, where you can only enter a few buildings.

I want to emphasize that this game is super fucking hard. If you don't get killed by zombies, wolves or bears, you'll likely succumb to hunger or just have some dickhead randomly run up to you and shoot you in the head for no reason. This game is super frustrating and if you get easily irritated with games and rq, then this isn't the game for you. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Are you guys playing it now?? I watched the rest of those videos that dudeman showed above and it seems really cool as long as you have TS and have people to play with, otherwise your just a naked man running. lol
